Determine which ore to mine for most profit
From UniWiki
Synopsis
Newbie miners are often baffled by the many ore types and find it difficult to determine which ore to mine for maximum profit. The following guide should help you with this decision. I will introduce you to 'Enildor's EVE Ore Calculator', an online tool allowing you to use information on current ore prices, buy order quantities as well as your refining skill to determine the ore you should be mining.
Another website to try is Gunfleet's *"Mining for ISK" calculator.
Enildor's EVE Ore Calculator
Open [1] in a new browser tab to launch Enildor's EVE Ore Calculator.
First, choose the region you plan to sell your ore in. If you want to sell in Aldrat or Hek then Metropolis will be your choice.
You will need to specify the refining rate you can achieve. If you are new to the mining trade and have a low refining skill, I would recommend to ask for help from someone in E-UNI who has a perfect refining rate and could do this for you. A list of perfect refiners that have offered to do this can be found on the forums: [2] Alternatively, you can ask for assistance in E-UNI's industry channel.
Click the Recalculate isk/m³ button to apply the changes to the refining rate you made.
Now order the results by the ISK/m³ values with the highest price on top. You can do this by clicking on the isk/m³ column title twice. The column title should now show a tiny black arrow pointing upwards.
You should also consider ore variants such as Dense Veldspar, Massive Scordite etc. You can do this by clicking on [show variants].
You now have successfully generated a list showing the ore with the best ISK/m³ ratio for yourself. In order to reach the most profit while mining, choose the ore at the topmost of the list that is available in the security range you intend to mine.
In Aldrat, the first available ore on the list that is present in the belts is Massive Scordite. This would be the ore you should mine with highest priority. This would then be followed by Condensed Scordite (since Ochre is not available in Aldrat), then Rich Plagioclase etc.
Remember that this list should be re-generated on every new mining operation; ore prices may be subjected to significant variations.
