Introduction
Welcome to this Electronic Warfare 102 class!
This course is designed primarily for people who:
- Have completed Ewar 101
- Wish to become an ewar pilot
- Have brought an ewar frigate or cruiser
Over the 60 minutes or so, we shall cover......
(Instructor should then introduce himself or herself - covering relevant experience level and background.)
We have a few ground rules for this class:
- Please put your Mumble settings on "Push to Talk" if you have not already done so.
- Feel free to type any questions in the Class.E-UNI chat channel as we proceed - I will try to answer your questions as they come during the class. [At the end of my lecture, we'll open Mumble for any further questions or general discussion.]
- You should be [docked up safely in a station [in Aldrat if you intend to participate in the practical exercise], or located....]
Everyone ready? OK, then - let's begin....
EWAR 101 Refresher
- Tracking Disruption (Amarr, affects turrets)
- Remote Sensor Dampening (Gallente, ships)
- Target Painting (Minmatar, ships)
- Electronic Counter Measures (Caldari, ships)
Ewar Skills
- Electronics
- Two skills for your type of ewar:
- TD: weapon disruption, turrent destablization
- RSD: sensor linking, signal suppression
- TP: target painting, signature focusing
- ECM: electronic warfare, signal dispersion
- Ewar generic skills:
- long distance jamming, frequency modulation (electronic warfare)
- Ship skills
- frigate, cruiser, electronic attack ships
- Targeting skills:
- targeting, signature analysis, long range targeting
Ewar Equipment
- Modules
- meta 1 usually bit more effective and easier to fit (sometimes cheaper)
- meta 2 and meta 3 even more so, but gradually more expensive
- meta 4 the best, good as T2 (sometimes better), easier to fit ( expensive)
- meta 5 is T2, hard to fit and needs high skills, but cheaper than meta 4
- Rigs
- Drones
- Especially ECM drones, even if you’re not Caldari
Ship fitting strategies
- Primary considerations (ewar, sometimes not even leave room for anything else)
- Modules to help you be better - sebo, distortion amps, mwd
- Keeping your ship alive (agility, defenses)
- Secondary considerations (damage, tackle)
- Ship fitting examples
- (Allow people to post fits, and we can talk)
Counter Ewar
- Counter-Ewar Modules
- TD: Tracking Enhancers, Tracking Computers, Tracking Links
- RSD: Signal Amplifiers, Sensor Boosters, Remoter Sensor Boosters, Target Painters
- TP: Afterburners, MicroWarpdrives, Inertia Stabilizers
- ECM: Sensor Backup Arrays, Electronic Counter Counter Measures (ECCM), Projected ECCM
Being Ewar
- Three Partying Rules of Ewar
- Arrive fashionably late
- Hang back from the main crowd
- Bail when it’s no longer fun
- A few final thoughts:
- TD: Use it on solo PvP
- RSD: Stacking penalties matter. Either split targets, or split scripts; Carry both scripts
- TP: Minmatar ewar ships are dual-bonused, making them interesting ships to fly
- ECM: Activate them one at a time, not all at once; Carry 2 minmatar, and no multispec
Class Wrap-up
- Thanks for attending this class!
- I would appreciate any feedback from people on how to improve the class
- Questions ?
[* Practical exercise]
- Free-for-all
- TD to demonstrate flying within guns
- RSD to demonstrate lock times
- TP to demonstrate lock times
- ECM to jam
