The following article is a syllabus for a class, intended primarily for teaching staff.

It is not our intention that teachers just recite this document. Make sure to read it thoroughly, use its structure as a guide for the structure of your class, but also make sure there is an added value for students to attend the class, instead of just reading this document.

Presenting the required components can be done in any order - the important part is to ensure the the syllabus is adhered to. Note that the teaching guide may not be up to date and it is the teacher's responsibility to ensure everything in the syllabus is covered.

Syllabus

The fleet should form, undock, and move to a safe position in Aldrat for briefing before going on a low-sec roam. Finding targets is preferable, but obviously will not always happen.

There should be very little in the way of organised teaching going on - it's more of a live fleet with embedded Q&A.

This is also a good class to run during wartime.

Introduction

Reminders

Make sure students have insured their ships, and that if they are risking implants they can't replace are in jump clones. Obviously if they decide they need a Jump Clone they'll have to drop fleet as we can't exactly wait for them to travel 40+ jumps to get one...

Fleet Formation

Setting Destination and Autopilot Settings

FC will normally give the fleet a destination to set their autopilot to. They will link the destination in fleet chat. Right click on destination and click "Set Destination". This helps everyone anticipate which "pipe" fleet will use during the roam.

FC may also give instructions on autopilot settings, which can be set to Safer (Use High-Sec route), Shorter (Use shortest route), and Less Safe (Use Low-Sec route). If you set Shorter/Less Safe, remember to fix this after the fleet.

Link destination in fleet window, have students set destination and autopilot settings for low-sec roam.

Low Sec Roam

Take the fleet on a nice low-sec roam.
