Resources (P0)
Resources are the raw materials mined from planets. Each planet has five resources available to it in different densities. To see the distribution of resources per planet type, see the Planets page. All Resources are produced via Extractors.
Resources are shortened to 'R' in some cases for convenience. They can also be considered P0 - the zero'eth product tier.

Products derived from Planetary Interaction are used in various fields of industry including Tech 2 and POS fuel production.
Tier 1 Products (P1)
Tier 1 products (P1) are those that are produced directly from mined resources. They are on a fixed 1-to-1 ratio with the above resources, in which each resource mined produces only one product. Tier 1 products are the building blocks of all other products derived from PI.
All Tier 1 products are produced via Basic Industrial Facilities
Tier 1 products are shortened to 'P1' (Product 1) in some cases for convenience.

Tier 2 products (P2) are produced with a combination of two Tier 1 products. They are generally NPC seeded consumer goods.
Most Tier 2 products can be produced on a single planet with the right colony setup.
All Tier 2 products are produced via Advanced Industrial Facilities.
Tier 2 products are shortened to 'P2' (Product 2) in some cases for convenience.

Tier 3 products (P3) are produced with a combination of two or three Tier 2 products. They are mostly used in T2 ship production.
Roughly half of Tier 3 products can be produced on a single planet with the right colony setup.
All Tier 3 products are produced via Advanced Industrial Facilities.
Tier 3 products are shortened to 'P3' (Product 3) in some cases for convenience.

Tier 4 products (P4) are the end result of PI production chains. They are produced with a combination of three Tier 3 products or two Tier 3 products and one Tier 1 product.
No Tier 4 products can be produced on a single planet.
All Tier 4 products are produced via High Tech Production Plants.
