Cerebral accelerators are boosters designed to boost the training speed of new players, allowing them to experiment with their skill queue during their first few days in New Eden. It is most commonly given to newly purchased accounts that subscribe using various deals offered by CCP, for example with the Steam Super Starter Pack.

There are also several kinds of accelerators that have been part of "Events" in New Eden (Blood Raider sites; Holiday gifts from CCP, etc.). These are usable by all characters, regardless of age. But they all have a fixed end-date after which they will no longer be provide attribute boosts.

This page should be updated due to game changes.

Variations

There are 3 different variations of the Cerebral Accelerator:

  • Standard Cerebral Accelerator: +3 to all attributes, +20% damage to Laser, Projectile and Hybrid Weaponry, +20% Rate of Fire to Missile weaponry. Lasts for 35 days.
  • Prototype Cerebral Accelerator: +9 to all attributes. Lasts for 14 days.
  • Advanced Cerebral Accelerator: +17 to all attributes. Lasts for 7 days.

Each cerebral accelerator occupies booster slot 4, meaning that you cannot use two different accelerators at the same time. It is important to differentiate between Boosters and Implants; you can indeed use a full set of implants alongside the booster. It is also important to note that the Accelerators do not last for x days from when they are consumed; they are removed after your character has reached that age. For example, if you create a character on the 1st of the month and receive a Prototype Cerebral Accelerator, whether you consume the Accelerator on the 1st or the 10th of the same month, it will deactivate on the 15th.

Procurement

If you purchase a subscription package that includes a Cerebral Accelerator of any kind, it will be delivered via the Redeem system. When you are in the character selection screen, you will see a red “Redeem Items” ribbon along the bottom of the screen. Click on this, and a list of all the items you have available will be shown. Simply drag and drop the item onto the portrait of the character you want to receive that item, and the item will then be delivered to the Items Hangar of the station in which your character is currently docked. (NB. It is a good idea to move your character to the station you want the item at before redeeming the item. That way there is zero chance of losing it via having your ship destroyed.) To activate the accelerator, simply right click on it in your items hangar and choose “Consume”. You do not necessarily need to have activated a new account to receive a Cerebral Accelerator; although they are not available on the Market, they can be found in Contracts, although they are not useful to established characters.
