Members of Eve University benefit from The Skillbook Program, providing vital skillbooks up to a value of 1 million ISK. Skillbooks are available in the Corporation Hangar, or reimbursement to purchase the skillbook may be issued through the Skillbook Wallet subject to funds available.

Conditions

  • Skillbooks are only reimbursed for a value up to 1 million ISK

We do not issue full or partial compensation for skillbooks costing more than 1 million ISK. This means if you buy a skillbook worth 1,000,001 ISK, you will not be reimbursed.

  • The Skillbook must be seeded by a NPC Corporations and is reimbursed at the NPC Seeded Price

Many of the skillbooks in the game are sold and seeded by the various NPC corporations.
However, some skillbooks are only available through the loyalty point stores of these corporations. There is no set price for these books and as such they are not reimbursed by the University.

The books which are seeded by NPC Corporations are able to be reimbursed at the NPC seeded price. The way to distinguish between skillbooks seeded by NPC corporations and skillbooks being sold by players is to look at the expiration date of the sell order.
Only NPC seeded items will have a sell order with an expiration date of 364 days. Player created sell orders will have a maximum expiration date of 89 days. These NPC sell orders renew during the daily scheduled downtime so they always have a 364 day expiration.

There is another category of skillbooks which are both NPC seeded and also available at loyalty point stores. A subset of skillbooks in this category are reimbursable as they are both NPC seeded and seeded at a price of 1 miilion isk or less.
These skillbooks are not seeded in all regions. They are available according the racial specialization of a region's faction.

--A separate article listing these skills is forthcoming.

  • Reimbursement for ONE expensive book to THREE cheap books

Limited funds are available in the Skillbook Wallet, and combined with the popularity of the program given the amount of students, we ask that you only ask for reimbursement of one expensive book or up to three cheap books at a time. This is usually the amount of skills you can usefully train in a short period. If you are uncertain or seeking reimbursement for more than three books, please ask for permission in the Corp channel first to prevent problems from arising.

Procedure

  • When possible check the corporate hangar to see if your skillbook is available

A limited selection of donated skillbooks are provided for free in the skillbook containers in the Hangars. If you do not have access, simply ask a Uni member to grab one for you. (Please see Corporation Hangar for information on how to use the Hangars). However, if you either (a) cannot find the skillbook you need there, (b) do not have the proper access to check and nobody else is available to check for you, or (c) are simply too far away from HQ that it would be too great of an inconvenience to fly back for a single skillbook, then always feel free to either ask for reimbursement or make use of the Skillbook Wallet instead.

  • How to ask for reimbursement

Please ask for reimbursement before purchasing your skillbooks in order to avoid any confusion regarding the amount you will be reimbursed.

If you are unable to get the skillbook you want from the corporate hangar, then any E-UNI pilot with the 'Student' title may transfer the money to you from the corporate Skillbook Wallet. Simply ask politely in Corp chat if someone with the student title is free to help you, then let them know what book you want and how much it costs. If you don't get an answer, ask again at about 5-minute intervals. When asking for skillbook reimbursement auto-linking the skillbook is an aid and a courtesy to those who would reimburse you.

Using the Skillbook Wallet

The Skillbook Wallet is a privilege bestowed upon Students of Eve University to help themselves and other players purchase skillbooks. The same conditions still apply regardless of whether you have access to the wallet or not. If a new player needs a skillbook, and one is not available in the hangars, we have created the Skillbook Wallet division to help. First, buy the skillbook and give it to the new player. Then, get reimbursed from the wallet. Or simply transfer the money from the corporate account directly to the player who needs the skillbook. You can do this by right-clicking on the player, and select "Transfer corp cash" - make sure you include the name of the skill and transfer exactly the amount it costs. You'll need to have a corporate wallet division set up to do this. See below on how to set up a corporate wallet division.

Setting up the wallet

  • First, access the wallet

Step 1

  • Click the Corp Wallet Button

Step 2

  • Click the "Change Division" button in the upper right and change to "Eve University Skillbooks"

Step 3

  • When the division says "Eve University Skillbooks" at the top of the corporate wallet, you can "Take Money" and grab whatever you need to reimburse yourself. Please leave a reason stating what skillbook and who it was for. Remember to use the "Transfer Money" option when helping others.
