{{MissionBriefing
I'm not going to beat around the bush with you on this one, as there isn't any time. We have a developing emergency in <System.. Several of our commercial convoys have been ripped to shreds in the last few months by an extremely dangerous band of terrorists. As you can see from these camera drone recordings, they have even been willing to fly their ships directly into our freighters and other unarmed haulers. And yes, before you ask, we have been escorting these convoys with heavily armed security vessels, though to little effect.

As these terrorists are obviously willing to die for their cause, they aren't bothering to attack our warships. They simply seem to appear out of nowhere, accelerate to high speeds and slam into the cargo ships. Depending on the cargo, this action can, at best, tear open the cargo bays and release the contents into the vacuum of space, or, at worst, strike a shipment of fuels or ammunition, and destroy the freighter in one huge explosion. One such explosion destroyed an entire convoy.

However, an ultra-secure communications intercept satellite recently picked up a communication that we believe indicates the terrorists are now considering turning their deadly tactic against some unidentified stations in the region. Given our huge civilian population on these stations, the decision has been made to conduct a partial evacuation of all potential target stations.

What we need from you is your help in getting these civilians – mostly the spouses and children of station personnel – to a station that is further away from the terrorists' known area of operation. Normally, I would not ask this of a capsuleer, but I am begging you: will you help us evacuate these people until this threat has passed? We need to know right now, as we have already begun to organize the evacuation fleet; can we count you in?
}}

{{MessageBox|Lore Blurb: Anti-Caldari Suicide Terrorists
We have virtually no information on these new threats, other than that they have access to very fast ships filled to the brim with high explosives. Their tactics are simple – they seem to appear out of nowhere, then accelerate their ships to maximum velocity and, ignoring defensive fire, fly directly into the cargo bays of our freighters and other haulers. We are currently working with Caldari Naval Intelligence to determine the source of this scourge; however, early indications from their ship markings are that they belong to an extremists environmental cult that views the Caldari State as the ultimate evil in the universe. They will stop at nothing to destroy us, especially as we expand planetary industry and resource harvesting.
The Interstellar Shipcaster is a stationary structure that allows for a one-way jump to move capsuleers enlisted in Faction Warfare from their faction's Headquarters star system closer to the warzone.

Mechanics
To use an Interstellar Shipcaster one needs to be enlisted with the corresponding faction militia. Players consolidate efforts to build Shipcaster Beacons in the warzone; there may be from 0 to 3 Beacons active simultaneously. If there are more than 1, the Shipcaster cycles every 6 minutes through different destinations.

Beacons require 300 smartfab units, 10 self-harmonizing power cores, 200 quantum microprocessors and 8000 nanotransistors to construct. A Beacon may be attacked by the opposing militia so needs to be defended.
Interstellar Shipcasters were the main goal of the Shipcaster Shadow War and it was supposed that they would greatly change the battlefield. However, nothing of this sort happened. Shipcasters remain mainly unused due to the difficulty of defending the Beacons.
The Free station container program offers up to 10 station containers delivered free of charge to members' hangar.

Requesting free station containers
This service is open for all members of EVE University. It can only be used once per member per location.

* To request a shipment of station containers please fill out the the Free station container form
* The Free station containers will be delivered to your hangar in the requested location within a few days, free of charge

Using station containers
Station containers can be used to organise your assets in a station or structure. They have a capacity of 1,000,000 m³.

Station containers have a volume of 2,000,000 m³ (10,000 m³ packaged), which means in their assembled state they do not fit in any freighter, and even unassembled they need a ship with a very large cargohold to move them. They cannot be jettisoned into space, or anchored.

Containers can not be put into other containers, therefore it is impossible to build any kind of 'folder tree'.

Items inside a container can not be repackaged, repaired, contracted, sold or delivered - they have to be moved to the item hangar for these actions.

Station containers use logging. You have to wait three weeks after the last audit log entry to repackage or rename a station container. A failed attempt to repackage or rename an station container generates a new audit log entry, which resets the timer.
The Loot Fairy is a reference to the fixed chance of cargo being destroyed when a ship is destroyed. In the history of EVE, there has been times where the destruction chance has been modified for a week, but it is usually fixed at 50% at all times.

Origin
"loot fairy said no" is a popular preset comment on zkillboard killmails that can be upvoted. It basically means the attackers lost valuable potential loot due to randomness.

Explanation
When bad things happen, it is common to attribute the cause to mystical or mythical beings, such as fairies who are known to be tricksters in common folklore.

Arithmos Tyrannos, also known as Drifter Response Battleship, is an optional encounter in C5 and C6 wormhole anomaly combat sites.

Spawning
In order to have Arithmos Tyrannos spawn you must first spawn the Decloaked Transmission Array (DTA). The DTA spawn when destroying a specific sleeper in each site. The sleeper triggering the DTA spawn varies depending on the site. Once the DTA has spawned it is recommended that you completely finish off any remaining sleeper waves before starting the encounter with Arithmos Tyrannos.
Arithmos Tyrannos may be spawned by engaging the DTA with any kind of hostile action. Activating guns, Ewar or drones will cause Arithmos Tyrannos to spawn in the site.

Fighting
The Drifter Response Battleship have respectable damage output, a massive HP buffer, strong warp scrambling and a very powerful energy neutralizer. Drifter Response Battleship have a warp strength of 4 so in order to prevent it from escaping you will require a minimum of 2x Warp Scrambers on it. It is possible to engage and defeat it alone in a properly fit Marauder but expect the fight last upwards of 20 minutes or more.

Behavior
Arithmos Tyrannos have a unique behavior compared to other entities found in wormhole space. When fighting they will frequently switch target, having a higher chance of targeting ships with higher damage output. Arithmos Tyrannos may also warp away and leave the anomaly site spawned in if not tackle. Arithmos Tyrannos have a small chance of warping immediately when spawn and will always try to warp/escape when reaching 20% armor. After having warped out of the site they spawned in they may go to any wormhole anomaly in the system. There they will orbit the wormhole and engage any other capsuleer on grid. This pose a real threat to any capsuleer who intend to use the wormhole. Small and fast aligning ships are usually (but not guaranteed) safe, being capable of aligning and warping before Arithmos Tyrannos is able to establish lock and warp scram. If there is only one wormhole anomaly in system, Arithmos Tyrannos will stay there and not attempt to warp again. If there are multiple wormhole anomalies Arithmos Tyrannos may reposition and warp between them. Having 2x Warp Scamblers active on them will prevent warping.
The Fleet Support Program aims to help Fleet Commanders(FC) provide content for the community by providing fits of their choice at appropriate staging stations. The FC simply has to submit a form before the fleet, and everything else will be taken care of by the production department. The program can also be used for classes and events that need ships or modules to be used for a practical component or as prizes as well as for loaner ships that somebody will be handling personally. Both PvP and PvE activities are supported.

Costs
* For regular fleets, the FC does NOT have to pay anything. (For other requests, contact the Production Manager.)
* The ships will be provided on Corp Contracts at the chosen staging station for the fleet members to purchase.
* The price for the contracts will simply be the price for the materials used to create the fit.
* Unsold contracts will be taken down after the fleet, and the items added back to the production department's stockpile for use in future fleets.

Rules
* Requests have to be submitted 5 days (120 hour) before the fleet takes place.
* If there is less time than 5 days, please contact the Production Manager before submitting a request, and we can see if we can work something out.
* It has to be an official E-UNI fleet. That means it has to be published on the forum/calendar. That does NOT mean it has to be a UNI FC. Guest FCs are permissible.
* The contracts will generally be set to 24h duration. If you want to keep the rest up for a future fleet, please make a comment in the request or contact the Production Manager ahead of time. We can accommodate fleets that will go out several times over a few days up to daily recurring fleets.
* Staging stations cannot be in W-space or in deep Sov-Null. Innuendo is excluded from these rules but needs an extra day to allow for hauling.
** Systems in Pochven are not allowed as staging systems. FCs that want ships for a fleet in Pochven and have their own means of getting them there are welcome to request them delivered at one of the approved locations for direct transfer to the FC.
** At our main E-UNI locations, the central structure should be used to simplify logistics and to keep form-up locations consistent between fleets.
** FCs are welcome to request ships for both the initial form-up as well as reshipping contracts at a strategic location elsewhere, however the FC would buy them at full Jita price and need to make their own logistical arrangements for staging
* Capitals and Supers are not provided, unless by special prior approval. For the purpose of this rule, Capitals are defined as any ships that require a "Standup Capital Shipyard I" to be built.
* The fits are the responsibility of the FC requesting them - we do not check fits for errors. Both doctrine and custom fits are supported.
* The fits must be provided in the EFT format. That is the format you get when you "Copy to clipboard" on the ingame fitting simulator or from external programs like Pyfa. Make sure when exporting from PyFa to EFT to untick the "Loaded Charges" option.
* If you want different variants of the same ship, eg. a Merlin with T1 guns and a Merlin with T2 guns, they have to be requested as separate fits.
* If there are more than 5 fits, submit additional requests as needed.
* Please keep the fits themselves reasonable. For example, don't request a T1 Merlin fit with a 3 billion ISK faction scram. This also applies to modules that are rare and difficult to obtain - if your request needs 100 meta lasers and the entire Jita trade volume in the last month was 10 of these, it is probably not going to happen regardless of the price.
* Please keep the overall amounts reasonable. If you expect 15 people to the fleet, don't request 30 DD and 30 Logi ships. Keep the ratio between the various roles, eg. Logi and DD, reasonable. For guidance on these aspects when starting out as FC, get in touch with other FCs in-game and in the appropriate Discord channels. Up to around 2 billion ISK per staging point for per fleet can usually be considered reasonable for a well-attended fleet. This number is meant as a general guide, not a hard rule.

Lead time
Given that more advanced hulls like BC+/T2/etc. can take a few days per hull to be manufactured, this can impact the lead time of 5 days. In some cases, this will necessitate a slightly different workflow:
* You can still submit these requests as per usual with a lead time of 5 days. However, if we can't produce the ships on time, we will import them, which will increase the price per fit up to jita sell.
* If unsure, check with the Production Manager beforehand what an appropriate lead time would be if you wanted everything to be manufactured at reduced prices.

Submitting requests
The link to the Request form can be found here.

After you have submitted a form you will not get a confirmation mail that we received the request. You will, however, get a link to a page where you can see the status of your request.

The Production Department will contact you once the contracts have been set up, usually around 6 hours before the fleet.
If there are no contracts up 2 hours before the fleet and you have not been contacted, please ping @Production Manager and @Senior Production Officer in the #ping-misc channel on Discord
{{MissionBriefing
Our engineering scientists, working at our highly secure, clandestine RDfacility on a nearby planet have produced a new type of cloaking device that, when fitted to Covert Ops ships, could theoretically enable them to jump through stargates without uncloaking! And yes, I can see by the look on your face that you must think I've had far too many Extra Strength Quafe sodas today. However, I can assure you that, while it may be many years before this technology is perfected and suitable for even experimental use, the science behind it is quite real, and this is where this story takes a very important twist.

Our internal security teams have managed to uncover a plan formulated by one of our competitors to steal the prototype cloaking system at some point between the time it leaves the lab up until it arrives at the field testing facility over in the next system. Problem is, we don't yet know who the spy is, so we devised a plan to get that spy to expose himself so that we can then move in and make the arrest.

To this end, you will be delivering is a very detailed mock-up series of the actual prototype, one that will withstand an initial visual and electronic scrutiny on the part of the thief. In all practical terms, however, these devices could no more cloak a ship than it could cook your morning breakfast. We are naming this event Operation Doorstop, which is our planning team's attempt at humor, given the uselessness of this particular lump of metal and wires. What we do need, though, is your absolute confidentiality on this shipment. If the spy gets any whiff that this is a set-up, we will likely never know who he or she is, and we will remain at ongoing risk of one of our most important R&D projects potentially falling into the wrong hands.

So, what do you say, <Pilot>? Willing to take on this rather interesting assignment?
{{MissionBriefing|
Earlier today, a small, unknown group of frigates attacked one of our remote signals intelligence (SIGINT) communications outposts, causing catastrophic damage and killing dozens of our personnel. This station belongs – or should I say belonged - to a small Caldari corporation with a poorly hidden contractual link to our military intelligence services. Fortunately, the survivors managed to escape, via their high-speed emergency shuttle and are expected to arrive at a nearby station within the hour.

As you might expect, we are working hard to determine the identities of the aggressors, but as yet we have no solid leads. Of course, this is not your concern. What is your concern, should you choose to help us, is a report we just received indicating that the surviving team of SIGINT contractors have been targeted for immediate assassination by the same mysterious organization behind the outpost attack. Apparently, someone does not want these individuals to provide us with whatever information they must have obtained during the course of their recent duties.

Within the last few hours, we intercepted a poorly encrypted communication indicating that a covert hit squad is en route to the station aboard an unspecified vessel – or may actually be at the station already! This station's security force, while well armed and highly trained, is insufficient to detect and defeat the kind of lethal operatives that we believe intend to kill our contractors. Therefore, we need you to rescue this team immediately and bring them back to us for an emergency debriefing and to ensure their safety.

After running a check of qualified pilots in our office database, your name was near the top of the list. We estimate there will only be sufficient time for this one rescue attempt before the assassins strike.}}

A Desperate Rescue is a Caldari storyline mission, which can be given by completing Level 2 missions. As a distribution mission, one only needs to pick up the contractors at the agent's station, and deliver them to a different station for completion. The mission can be completed remotely.
{{MissionBriefing
One of our Caldari Navy Special Forces units conducting clandestine reconnaissance of a contested ocean planet – a Gallente-claimed planet, by the way, with extremely rare seabed minerals – sent an emergency burst communication to the covert ops ship in orbit above the planet, requesting immediate extraction. This signal was, in turn, transmitted to the classified comms center here on this station. When we attempted to contact both the team and the ship, however, we received no response. Our immediate reaction was to divert one of our long range Crow-class interceptors, which was in the region on an unrelated mission, to investigate. Soon after its arrival, its sensors confirmed that the covert ops ship had been destroyed.

There is nothing we can do for our lost covops ship; however, this series of events has left the Special Forces team alone and without a means to evacuate the planet. Even worse was a fragment from the original communication indicating that the team was on the run and low on food, water, weapons, and ammunition. They have taken refuge in a disused ocean mining facility, though it is doubtful that they will stay hidden for long. There simply aren't many places to hide on that planet, given the fact that it is mostly covered by massive oceans, with very little land mass. It will not take long for the Gallente to track down our team and either kill them or, worse, capture them for interrogation.

The good news in all this is that we have an extraction team in place, along with a shuttle-equipped vessel to deliver them to the planet. However, given the immediacy of this mission, they had to leave their original base without much of their usual equipment and weaponry. This is where you come in. We need you to transport several containers of highly specialized small arms and related equipment to the station at which the extraction team is currently located. Once you drop off this cargo, the team will gear-up and shuttle down to the planet to rescue the stranded team.

So, pilot, what is it gonna be? Will you help us?

Belt rats are local pirates you can encounter when in an ore belt(mining).

General
* They can show up in all ore belts, whether regular or mission
** No belt rats appear in 0.9 and 1.0 security systems.
* They come in flights of 1 to 3 frigates (highsec)
* A system always has the same pirate faction
** Which pirate faction occupies a certain system can be found on places like EVEEYE or Dotlan.
*** Dotlan's system information page for instance says Hek has Angels.
*** The way EVEEYE indicates the NPC Pirates seems to indicate that the pirates are the same for a whole region?. It shows as an icon in the top bar.

Special rats
* Officer spawns are special pirate faction rats that are rare, but more common in systems with a low true security status and the home region of that faction. Each faction has four different officer rats of varying difficulty that you can recognize through being named. See Faction Modules#Officer
* Commander rats are slightly stronger than normal belt rats for the given area, but drop faction modules on destruction. These will have Commander in their name.
* Hauler belt rats are different from the ships in NPC Mining Operations as they do not trigger a response fleet or have an accompanying ming fleet while having lower rewards.
* COSMOS constellations have special type of belt rats. These do not require mining activity to spawn. They have a separate naming pattern The Angel version for example are called "Cyber something" while the regular are called "Angel something"

The Ambition Modifier will change how many corruption 5 or suppression 5 solarsystems a side, the pirates or the anti-pirates, requires for victory in an insurgency campaign.

* If an Insurgency campaign is won by the side with equal or more ambition than the other side, it will increase the ambition modifier of that side by +1.
* If an Insurgency campaign is won by the side with less ambition, it will reduce the ambition modifier of the other side by -1.
* The Ambition Modifier can go as high as +13, requiring a side to fully corrupt or suppress 20 solarsystems for victory or to make the Forward Operating Base vulnerable.
* Information about the Ambition Modifier can be found in-game in the pirate insurgency guide page in the Agency.
Introduction
Purpose of this article
On this page you can find Assault Frigates fits for T1 Abyssal Deadspace. They were designed with following goals in mind:
* Can beat Calm Abyss without issues
* Cost around 60M-70M ISK
* Do not use Damage Control or Assault Damage Control
* They are able to run higher tiers in fleet with small refit

Contents
Each section contains:
* Notes: Short notes from person who was testing the fit. There are similarities between fits, as they are all brawly with webs, but if there's anything specific, it will be included.
* Fit itself - click "EFT" on fitting window to get fitting in text format, which can be imported in game. All fits contain recommended ammo, Nanite Repair Paste and correct Abyssal filaments
* Youtube link - with video(s) showing runs with specific fit. Do not treat them as definitive guide, but use them to see how others fly specific ship.
* Abyss Tracker link - fits are uploaded to Abyss Tracker, and fleet runs will be uploaded to new "Triglav" Abyss Tracker

Are these fits good?
"It Depends". For T1 runs - they are, as they were tested and all meet Tank/DPS requirements. They should be able to run T2s in fleet with slight refit, but not all combinations were tested extensively. They are probably not suitable for high tier Abyss, as there you want to use dedicated fits - common being 3x Hawks where one has better tank to pull aggro, or 2x Retributions + Logi Deacon. High tier Abyss is beyond scope of this guide.
General strategy
All fits presented here fly very similar - they utilize high DPS weapon variant and Stasis Webifier to hold enemy in preferred engagement range.

Requirements:
* All fits should have at least 140 DPS with your short range - high DPS T2 ammo (Hail, Void, Rage)
* All fits should have around 100 EHP/s for Electricals and about 80 EHP/s for Darks

Your general strategy:
* Use your short range - high DPS ammo all the time
* Close orbit + web will allow you to shoot stuff
* Devoted Knight and Cynabal - they will web and neut you. Your goal is to get into 500m orbit with AB and Web on - they will not be able to hit you.
* Tessera (drone BC) - they have absurd tracking, and will hit you if you come closer than 10km (a bit less in Darks). Load your long range ammo, orbit at distance, watch your EHP
If there will be any specific advice for specific fit, it will be included in that fit's section.

T1 Dark Fits
Below fits are designed to run Dark weather. They use rockets, which means they are not affected by weather penalty (reduced turret range), and additional speed helps mitigate damage. They are very safe to run, but run times are extended due to lack of resistance penalty in Dark weather.

General advice:
* Hawks are locked into Kinetic DPS, but Vengeance and Jaguar can use all types of rockets. Fits have Inferno Rockets, as they are good enough, but you can run with different rockets and switch depending on enemy resists
* Hawks can run Exotic weather. It will be more dangerous due to lower speed and no penalty to turrets, but it will also be faster as enemies get reduced Kinetic resists
* If you orbit very closely (500m) you will mitigate most of damage, except Tesserra - they have very good tracking.
* Order of ships from the best to the worst: Hawk -> Vengenace -> Jaguar

Abyssal Hawk T1
T1 Electrical Fits
Below fits are designed to run Electrical weather. All of them use short range turrets and each fit relies on Electrical weather bonus to capacitor recharge time. In other weathers they will be very cap-unstable.

General advice:
* All ships have T2 ammo in fit - taking additional ammo (Faction Antimatter, Faction EMP S, Faction Multifrequency) might be useful, but for simplicity fits were tested without them.
* No other weather is possible without major refitting to solve capacitor issues
* If you orbit very closely (500m) you will mitigate most of damage, except Tesserra - they have very good tracking.
* Ships are in rough preference order. Keep in mind that range above 10km is required, which favours Retribution and Wolf, but other fits are also feasible.

Abyssal Retribution T1
Duo & Trio - more powah!
Some of the fits can do T2 Abyss (Agitated) in a fleet of two or three pilots.

Basics - refit and skills
Before starting T2 run, there is one ship modification that should be done:
* Replace one of your DPS modules with Assault Damage Control - you can use EFFA (compact) if you don't have skills for T2 (or if it doesn't fit)
This gives you 8 seconds of awesome resists - which is your only chance to do something when your tank starts breaking. Use it to avoid heavy damage - for example when approaching bigger ship. When ADC is activated, it will (basically) prevent all damage that you take, but since it doesn't affect your reps, it will not make you regain Shield or Armor HP faster. It has 2 minute recharge - preferably you should wait for it to recharge before entering new room.

There are also few skills that should be picked up before starting T2 runs:
* Basic familiarity with T2 spawns - they are different that T1s, and at least one pilot needs to be able to call priorities
* Spiralling in - all pilots need to be able to perform spiral in by themselves
* Cap management - neut pressure in T2 is bigger than T1. Nothing scary, but it's better to run reps when you need to run reps, than to stay at 30% capacitor level all the time

Viable combinations
Missile ships
While all missile ships are capable of running T1, T2 Abyss requires at least one pilot to fly Hawk, due to it's rocket range bonus. Preferred combination is 3x Hawk, but Hawk + Vengeance with very good in-game skills was also very successful. To sum it up:
* 3x Hawk is the best option
* 1x Hawk + 2x other missile ships is a good combination
* 1x Hawk + 1x Vengeance or Jaguar will work, but will be more difficult and will require better piloting

Off color Hawks
Two Hawks will succesfully run T2 Exotic Abyss. It will be more dangerous due to worse incoming damage mitigation, but run times will be better due to resist penalty to enemies.

Tips & Tricks
* Fly-by - when faced with room full of Tessellas, the best way to deal with them is 'fly-by' manouver - do not engage them directly, but approach Bio-cache. They deal decent DPS and have good tracking, but their range (especially in Darks) is very limited - by going straight to the cache you will pass them (you can usually kill one or two during that) and then they will get out of range. It allows the person that got aggroed to have more comfort, and other pilot(s) to shoot Tessellas.
* Call out ADC activation - other pilots need to know when your tank breaks, they might try to save you.
* In frigate Abyss only main cache has it's loot tripled - it's not worth your time to go for side loot, it's better to do one more run
* Some spawns will be hard, and will require proper use of ADC. Since it lasts only 8 seconds, you need to have a plan what to do before you activate it.

This article describes guidelines for picking a location to run Abyssal Deadspace. The information below is not an exhaustive guide but rather offers general guidelines. Remember, potential gankers will also read this page, and might follow these guidelines just like you.

System choice
System security
Due to different CONCORD response times based on system security status, it is advised to run in the highest security system that allows you to run your filament tier choice. See the table below for the allowed Abyss tier for each specific system security. You should pick the highest security system where you do NOT get a suspect flag.

Convenience
The criteria for our potential system are as follows:
* Is close to DED station, to sell your loot from your Abyss runs
* Is close to your main area of operations, to allow you to travel quickly
* Is close to a trade hub, to make trading for modules/ammo/ships more convenient
Depending on how important these criteria are to you, you have to decide on where your running system can be.

Possible considerations:
* EVE University specific: If you use Uni Buyback - distance to DED station doesn't matter. If you use Uni Hauling, the distance to a trade hub doesn't matter.
* You can use a commercial hauling service to move your loot, for approximately 1% of its worth

How to find a convenient system?
A good way of finding a convenient system to run is to use Adam4Eve Market orders page - it can display offers for Abyss loot (Triglavian Survey Database) with filters narrowing down possible locations.

System traffic
Ideally, you want a system that no one visits. That's obviously impossible, so the next best choice is a low-traffic system, preferably a dead-end. We can check that by opening the Region map in Dotlan, and selecting "Jumps (24h)" in the dropdown. That allows us to estimate traffic through that system. It's worth checking it for a few days in a row, as traffic might also depend on the day of the week.

Safe Spots
After selecting a system, creating Safe spot bookmarks is also necessary. They are described in detail in their own Wiki article, but for Abyss purposes it's worth knowing that:
* You want to have your safe spot at least 14 AU (D-Scan range) away from any warpable objects, or warp paths between such objects.
* A good way of making safe bookmarks is to be in Abyss when downtime starts (11:00 EVE time) - but DO NOT take the Abyss gates during DT!
* Refer back to Safe spots article for more information.

The main purpose of Safe Spot is to have a place to run Abyss, which cannot be detected by D-Scanning by anyone in the system - as finding the trace is the first step to ganking Abyssal runner. You can't guarantee that no one will find it, but chances are reduced in comparison to starting Abyss near a station/structure/celestial/etc.

Is this really needed?
"It Depends". For low-tier runs (up to T2) your ship and fit should be cheap enough that it's not a good gank target. You might still be ganked though if you run next to Jita - so some of the precautions described above will still apply. The higher the Tier, and the more expensive your ship - the more cautious you should be. Especially when you are known to run high-tier Abyssals - if you are active on Abyss Tracker, Abyssal Discords or otherwise known to run expensive ships.

You can bookmark probes if they are on your overview. (assuming your brackets are set to show them)
This is useful for making bookmarks on grid quickly.

Set your probe scan range to 0.25 AU and click center on my location in the scan window.
Then hover your mouse in the system map (F9) where you see your probes on the map.
If you now press and hold ctrl you'll see arrow to 'zoom in' with your probes.
Clear

While holding down ctrl, scroll down with your mouse wheel to move them closer together.
Now hit analyse to move the probes to this location. If you've scrolled down far enough all of them should show on grid.
If they don't, adjust by scrolling down even more. If they are too close, scroll up.
Clear

You can also move the probes to cardinal locations.
Set the probe size to 32 AU scan range and press and hold shift. This allow you to drag around the probes to a grid such as in the image on the right.

Set the probe range to 0.25 AU and start scrolling in again while holding shift on your system map.
Hit analyze and if you've scrolled in far enough, the probes will get on grid on the 6 cardinal positions.

Clear

Once you like the locations of the probes, save it as a custom formation with the button on your scan window.

Now when ever you are somewhere where you want a perch, you can launch probes. Hit center on my position, your custom formation and analyze. They'll be ongrid where you can bookmark them for perches.
Duke Boschhttps://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Abyss_Overview_SetupAbyss Overview Setup2024-01-03T10:14:04Z
Chris Halsky:

Quick guide on how to setup Overview for Abyss. It is not definitive way - rather a proposal from EVE University Abyssals runners, that found it good for it's purpose.
__TOC__

Prerequisites
It's assumed that you have UNI Overview installed, as all instructions explain modification to it, not creating new setup. Your overview should look mroe or less like on below screenshot.

Creating new tab
Click the "+" button on the right of your tabs - you will get window prompting you to enter name of new tab, and asking you to pick Filter and Bracket Filter.
For Filter: General: All
For Brackets: Brackets: Combat/Targets/Friendly (+Dro)

Columns adjustment
Select your new tab, Right Click on column header and uncheck Corporation and Alliance.

Optional: drone removal
Some players prefer to remove drones from the Overview. To do this, in safe place launch your drones, Right Click one of them in Overview, and select "Remove Combat Drone from Overview"

Saving filter
If you modified your filter in previous step, you need to save it. Go to Overview settings ("3 dots" on the top right), go to "Filters" tab and click "Save As". You will be prompted for a name for new filter.

Final check
Hover your cursor over new tab name - you should see Filter and Bracket filter names, like below screenshot

Optional step - for running in Fleets
If you are running Abyss in fleet, coordination is important - you might want to switch "Tags" as a column in Overview. Right Click any of column headers, and check "Tag".

Overview in action
That's how your Overview will look in Abyss - it will contain everything that's important, including enemies, pylons and caches/loot.

Triglavian links
On this page, you will find a list of commonly asked questions regarding Abyssal Deadspace. If your question is not on this page, please head over to the Abyssal Community Discord channel and ask there. Ping a Community Coordinators if you think this page should include your question.

Which ships should I fly? What should be my next ship?
There is no 'perfect' progression which Abyssal Community recommends. Please look at our Abyssal Community Fits for base T0 and T1 fits - they were tested with recommended skills, and provide good start in Abyss. You have to decide what would be your next step - be it Gila, HAC, 3x Frigate runs or other way.

I am dying a lot, why?
This is usually due to one of the following reasons or a combination of them:
#You are not outputting enough damage to stay alive or clear fast enough for the time limit
#You do not have enough EHP/s or speed tank to survive the incoming damage
#You are not destroying enemies in the correct order
Number one and two go hand in hand, in general, each filament tier requires an increase in DPS and EHP/s of 150 with the exception of T0 (please note that this is a general rule for cruisers, frigates utilize a high amount of "speed tanking" and as such will have lower requirements for tank). This is the total amount of all the ships taking part in the run, in theory, two frigates each outputting 75 DPS will be able to clear T1. This might be difficult in practice due to the incoming damage but serves as a general example.

Number three is more complicated but as a general rule, check the following in descending priority order:
*Do not approach ships straight on, always manually pilot and spiral in to approach
*Consider if you should keep an enemy at range (if yes, at what range) or if you should go into brawling range. Certain ships will kill you if you get too close. E-war works off the same principle.
*Prioritize e-war that is dangerous to you. If you are running an afterburner then enemies that webify you are more dangerous than enemies using warp-scramblers. If you are speed-tanking then enemies slowing you down are more dangerous than enemies using neuts.
*Prioritize enemies that deal unfavorable damage to you. Depending on filament weather you will have a natural resist hole (except in dark filaments). Enemies dealing this type of damage should be dealt with first.
Consider learning which enemies can spawn in each type of room and which enemies should be prioritized. Do this before starting your run and create a cheat sheet based on your filament tier, filament weather, and ship fit.

What should be my Tank/DPS for Tier X?
Table below is not exhaustive but serves as a general guide. If you rely to some degree on speed to mitigate incoming damage then EHP requirements will be lower or much lower.
Tier !! DPS !! EHP/s
When should I move up a tier?
It can be difficult to judge when to move up a tier, what follows are some things to consider before moving up a tier.
*Are you comfortable in running your current tier? Each tier represents a significant increase in difficulty and as such you should optimally not struggle at all with your current tier. This includes dying very little and finishing runs in a reasonable time.
*Do you have good knowledge of each "room"? Since each tier will add more enemies to deal with, not knowing how to deal with a certain "room" will only be exacerbated in higher tiers.
*You should not be risking all your ISK on a new fit for a new tier, this holds true for any activity in Eve. Spend responsibly.

Loot Strategy Recommendations
Loot in Abyssal Deadspace can be found in multiple containers. These containers can be divided into two categories:
#The main loot can: Triglavian Bioadaptive cache. This contains the majority of loot.
#The side loot cans: Triglavian Extraction Nodes & Triglavian Extraction Subnodes
Please note that only the Bioadaptive cache loot will get multiplied by three or two (frigate- or destroyer-runs), the side cans will only be influenced by the filament tier.

General recommendations
*If you are doing less than one hour's worth of runs then loot everything you safely can within the time limit.
*If you are doing runs back to back for an extended period then it is more efficient to only loot the Bioadaptive chache since it allows for more runs which grants more loot than the potential loot from the side-cans.
*If your runs average a run time of close to 15 minutes or higher, do not loot the first room fully. This is to prevent you from running out of time in later rooms due to greed.

As with most things in EVE the answer to the question "Which cans should I loot?" will be "It depends". However, generally, you should consider that only the Bioadaptive cache will contain "Big drops" and be multiplied by frigate or destroyer runs. Efficiency is mainly gained by doing more runs per hour rather than looting everything.

Median loot per run and tier
Below you can find the median loot values per tier and hull size. Please note that these values are based on self-reported user data and as such might not be accurate.
Filament tier !! Frigate !! Destroyer !! Cruiser
Tier 0 || 2.25M || 1.48M || 0.76M
Tier 1 || 5.25M || 3.44M || 2.53M
Tier 2 || 13.59M || 8.51M || 5.53M
Tier 3 || 34.06M || 21.2M || 12.46M
Tier 4 || 85.08M || 59.22M || 32.27M
Tier 5 || 172.22M || 112.97M || 66.39M
Tier 6 || 342M || 224.07M || 127.48M

Consider the above when thinking about moving up a tier. If you can do three T0 frigate runs in the same time as you can do one T1 frigate run then it is more lucrative to continue running T0 until you can do T1 faster.
What should I do with all the blueprints from abyssals?
* BPCs that you find in Abyss are usually worth very little, and it doesn't make much sense to try to sell them. You can check approximate worth of them by Right Clicking -> Show in Contracts (BPCs cannot be sold on market)
* BPCs that might have some value (as of 2024) are the faction offensive guns, the low slot damage mod (not much though), select hulls (depends on market). Ammo is usually positive to make, but not to sell as blueprints (values may change fast, so check in game before you commit)
* You can dabble specifically in Abyss BPC's in industry, you will only need specific skills so you don't need to go all out on SP expenditure. You earn the main industry materials needed (BPC's, Crystalline Isogen-10 and Zero-Point Condensate) so you need relatively miner (ha get it) items to have your valued items make money (use 3rd party tools to ensure it's a positive thing to make, and you're not devaluing your inputs by making an output!)
* Build a stockpile of BPC's in a special crate, and maybe sell it one day as a bundle - you can post it on #buy-or-sell channel on Discord if you're member of EVE University

How do I beat...
Devoted Hunter
Usual killer of T0 ships. You have to kill it before it kills you.
* Try to stay at range if you use drone boat
* Usually requires overheating of reps and weapons, to speed up the kill
* Is very fast, you might not be able to kite it for long

Skybreaker
DPS check for T0 ships. Doesn't deal much damage, but has very good tank.
* Use appropriate ammo - either matching weather resist penalty, or Thermal/EM
* Overheat weapons if needed
* Try to stay close, to have better chance to hit
* Bring a stack of Faction ammo specifically for Skybreaker

Tessera
Hardest enemy in T1 if you aren't prepared and don't know how to kill it. Quite easy if you know the strats.
* Has very short range - 2km Optimal + 6km Falloff
* Has absurdly good tracking - 4000 (!)
* Stay at range - preferably 14km or higher (a bit lower in Dark weather, due to turret range penalty)

Devoted Knight
Can be a difficult one due to EWAR, especially in T1s when it appears for the first time.
* Will Web and Neut you - be prepared to manage your cap well
* In frigates, you can use your cap to get into tight orbit - it will not be able to hit you if you orbit closely, even when you're webbed/neuted
* It deals 150 DPS, EM/Thermal. That's recommended tank number for T1 Abyss, be prepared to overheat if you don't meet it
