Arguments in favor of page deletion:
 +
* This page is bad practice - keeping game data on Wiki, with forever obligation to update it, and potentially having incorrect data
 +
* There is no process to update it, no one is designated to do it, and we hope that CCP won't change prices frequently

Arguments in favor of keeping the page:
 +
* In order to process request, we need to check the price. Normally checking in game should be used, but it's not always possible - some skillbooks are 'regional' - for example not all Gallente skillbooks will be found in Caldari region (understandable) and accordingly not all Caldari skillbooks are in Gallente region (unimaginable offense)
 +
* We also need to check direct inject price - which is not visible if you have that skill. For new-player-skills it's especially hard, since we all get them quickly
 +
* Page is good guide to new players who don't get the distinction of "NPC sell" and "Player sell" - it has clear labels (well, colors) which explain it. Especially for Large weapons, which can be reimbursed at NPC price, but not Direct/Inject

Why do we keep it?

Arguments in favor of page deletion:

  • This page is bad practice - keeping game data on Wiki, with forever obligation to update it, and potentially having incorrect data
  • There is no process to update it, no one is designated to do it, and we hope that CCP won't change prices frequently

Arguments in favor of keeping the page:

  • In order to process request, we need to check the price. Normally checking in game should be used, but it's not always possible - some skillbooks are 'regional' - for example not all Gallente skillbooks will be found in Caldari region (understandable) and accordingly not all Caldari skillbooks are in Gallente region (unimaginable offense)
  • We also need to check direct inject price - which is not visible if you have that skill. For new-player-skills it's especially hard, since we all get them quickly
  • Page is good guide to new players who don't get the distinction of "NPC sell" and "Player sell" - it has clear labels (well, colors) which explain it. Especially for Large weapons, which can be reimbursed at NPC price, but not Direct/Inject

Had a talk with Chris because I wanted to deleted the page. I asked them to publish the minutes of our conversation. What won me over is that this page needn't be kept up-to-date and that it already has a big red disclaimer. Arin Mara (talk) 17:27, 10 May 2022 (UTC)
