Maintenance categories are used to quickly and automatically organize articles in need of focused editor attention.

Membership in maintenance categories is the result of the use of various maintenance templates. These templates create a boilerplate notification at the top of the article in question that serves to alert both readers and editors as to the maintenance status of that article. Maintenance categories should not be applied manually via normal wiki markup; they should always be applied using maintenance templates.

Maintenance templates should not be used in sandboxes or in the User namespace unless you want your sandbox or User page to be deleted, moved or merged.

Category:Candidates for cleanup

For content-specific changes see Needing updates. For articles not written with a neutral point of view, see Non-neutral articles.
See also: UniWiki:To-Do List

These articles should be reformatted or otherwise improved for grammar, typographical errors, organization, readability, and other non-content related changes. Candidates for Cleanup use the {{Cleanup}} template.

This article should be cleaned up or improved.

When the {{Cleanup}} template is added to a page, that page is automatically included below. When the {{Cleanup}} template is removed, the page is automatically removed from this page. Hence, the links on this page should not be edited directly. Anyone can edit these pages to improve them. If the problem is correctable with the skills you already possess, consider fixing it yourself.

This category does not include articles with inaccurate information; for articles that must be edited for content, see Category:Needing updates.

List of reasons for cleanup

PageDateDescription
A Greener WorldCargo description for level 1 is missing. Also, does the level 1 briefing has different text?
A Little Work On The SideThe 45 Large Crate of Suspicious Holoreels was originally reported as level 1. This apparently was not correct. So the correct level has to be entered.
Remember - For storyline missions the level is not determined by the agent level but by the level of the missions it is offered for.

Alphabetical Ship List21 January 2024Might be incomplete, or the total in the intro(389) is wrong. Category:Ship Database has 415 articles, this includes 6 non-payable Jove ships, indicating 409 playable ships.
Androver HnillThis article is transcribed from raw copy of the mission screen and screen shots of the rats.
There is still information missing/unclear.

Category:Candidates for deletion

Articles and media that are unnecessary, unused, or deprecated and not worth keeping. Only editors in the administrator usergroup are able to delete articles and media.

Candidates for deletion use the {{deletion}} tag that appears as:

This article is a candidate for deletion.

When the {{deletion}} template is added to a page, that page is automatically included below. When the {{deletion}} template is removed, the page is automatically removed from this page. Hence, this category should not be added to a page manually.

Category:Candidates for merging

See also: UniWiki:To-Do List

Articles that are very similar in subject matter or content that may need to be combined. When merging articles, the more complete article should be the base for the merged article, and once merged, any component articles should be converted to redirects.

Candidates for Merging use the {{Merge|page1|page2|etc}} template.

It is suggested that this article should be merged with: page1 page2 etc

When the {{Merge}} template is added to a page, that page is automatically included below. When the {{Merge}} template is removed, the page is automatically removed from this page. Hence, the links on this page should not be edited directly.

Category:Candidates for moving

Articles that should be moved (renamed). Articles may need to be moved due to misspelled, verbose, or inappropriate titles. All editors are able to move articles. When moving articles, be sure to check Special:DoubleRedirects to fix any double redirects that may have resulted from moving the article in question.

Candidates for moving use the {{move}} tag.

When the {{move}} template is added to a page, that page is automatically included below. When the {{move}} template is removed, the page is automatically removed from this page. Hence, the links on this page should not be edited directly.

Category:Candidates for verification

Verifying information on the UniWiki helps to keep the wiki up to date with ever changing game that is EVE Online. In any given month, game updates can change ship and module stats, game mechanics, or add new feature. These changes can compound to make past writings outdated or even inaccurate. As such, flagging suspect info with a [Verify] tag can make those areas more evident and expedite an update.

For more information see UniWiki:Verification

When the {{Verify}} template is added to a page, that page is automatically included in this category.

Category:Deprecated pages

Articles that are no longer in use, out-of-date, or no longer maintained, but have been kept due to their value either as a historical record or because they relate to subjects that were once important components of gameplay. Deprecated pages should generally not be deleted, but editors who feel that a deprecated page no longer has any relevance may use Template:Deletion to suggest that it be removed.

Deprecated Pages use the {{Deprecated}} template.

This article is deprecated and no longer in use. There is no replacement information available.

When the {{Deprecated}} template is added to a page, that page is automatically included here. When the {{Deprecated}} template is removed, the page is automatically removed from this page. Hence, the links on this page should not be edited directly.

Category:Deprecated templates

These templates are either out of date, or currently unused. These templates will either be deleted or converted into more relevant templates. Deprecated templates are marked using the the {{Deprecated}} template.

This template is deprecated and no longer in use. There is no replacement information available.

When the {{Deprecated}} template is added to a template, that template is automatically included here. When the {{Deprecated}} template is removed, the template is automatically removed from this page.

Category:EVE University History

Articles about EVE University's history. Though not technically a maintenance category, articles in this category should be considered deprecated and are no longer maintained. They are kept for their historical relevance to EVE University, and should not be deleted.

To add a page to this category, use the Template {{Historical}}

Category:Media to transcribe

Lists all media that needs to be transformed into text, table or other granular editable form and place into the article.

After the media is transformed, remove it from the article, from this category and mark it for deletion by using the template {{deletion}}.

Media that relates to the User Interface of the EVE Online client that should not be transformed belong to Category:User Interface.

Category:Needing updates

For pages requiring changes not related to content, such as phrasing or grammatical errors, see Candidates for cleanup. For articles not written with a neutral point of view, see Non-neutral articles.
See also: UniWiki:To-Do List

Articles with inaccurate or out-of-date information. Due to the often widespread nature of game changes, this maintenance category can often grow or shrink quickly over relatively short spans of time. Articles belonging to this category may need to be completely rewritten, or may even need to be deprecated if a change is particularly extreme.

Needing Updates uses the {{Update|something changed}} template.

This page should be updated due to game changes.
Reason: something changed

When the {{Update}} template is added to a page, that page is automatically included in this category. Anyone can edit these pages. If the problem is correctable with the skills you already possess, consider being bold and fixing it yourself.

This category does not include articles in need of copyediting; for articles in need of cleanup, see Category:Candidates for cleanup.

For content-specific changes see Needing updates. For general cleanup, see Candidates for cleanup.

"POV" is an abbreviation for "Point of View". It is most commonly used to signify that, in the opinion of the editor, some statement is biased, which is to say that it is "non-neutral and takes a point of view". Non-neutral content or style conflicts with the UniWiki's goal of being a neutral source of factual — and independently verifiable — information.

POV contrasts with "NPOV", an abbreviation for "Neutral Point of View", the UniWiki's editorial approach, which is inherited from Wikipedia's own editorial policy. See the page Wikipedia:Neutral point of view for this policy.

These articles should be reformatted or otherwise improved to reflect a neutral point of view. Pages that reflect a non-neutral POV use the {{NPOV}} template.

When the {{NPOV}} template is added to a page, that page is automatically included below. When the {{NPOV}} template is removed, the page is automatically removed from this page. Hence, the links on this page should not be edited directly. Anyone can edit these pages to improve them. If the problem is correctable with the skills you already possess, consider fixing it yourself.

Category:Obsolete Skills

Articles containing references to skills that no longer exist in the game. This category does not have boilerplate message or a specific template for marking such articles; instead, articles are automatically assigned to this category as a function of templates {{GetSkillAlpha}}, {{GetSkillLink}}, {{GetSkillPrice}} and {{GetSkillMult}}. If CCP changes skill names or groups, or adds/removes skills from the game, any UniWiki pages with obsolete skill links will automatically be added to this category, giving an overview of what pages need fixing.

Icon information square.png Note: Non-player skills and wrongly spelled skills will show up here as-well

Icon information square.png Note: The skill templates and their docs will always be here because there is a deliberate "wrong" skill in the docs

Category:Pages using duplicate arguments in template calls

This category contains pages with template calls that pass the same argument (parameter value) more than once, such as {{foo|bar=1|bar=2}} and {{foo|bar|1=baz}}. When the same parameter is given a value more than once in a template, only the final value of that parameter is used to display the template.

This category is automatically populated by the MediaWiki software.

Category:Pages where template include size is exceeded

Articles that contain too many template calls, including templates within templates. This category is generated automatically by the MediaWiki software, and does not have a template associated with it. It is rarely used because the maximum template include size is far beyond that of most normal articles.

Category:Pages with broken file links

Articles that contain internal links to media files that no longer exist (have been deleted). This category is generated automatically by the MediaWiki software, and does not have a template associated with it.

Category:Stubs

See also: UniWiki:To-Do List

Stub pages are those which are not yet completed or are too short and need more information to be of use. Stub pages use the {{Stub}} template.

This article is a stub. You can help the UniWiki by expanding it.

When the {{Stub}} template is added to a page, that page is automatically included in this category.

The {{Stub}} template refers to an entire article, not to individual sections of an article, and thus should be placed at the top of an article . While it is entirely appropriate to use {{Stub}} to mark an article with a section that is incomplete, it is not appropriate to place the template inside of that section.

Category:Templates without documentation

Templates that lack a documentation page. This category is generated automatically by the MediaWiki software, and does not have a template associated with it.

All templates should have at least minimal documentation stating their purpose and use. Template documentation should be written in its own article, named <template name>/doc. Once written, documentation can be transcluded onto the template's main page using Template:Documentation.

For more information about template documentation, see UniWiki:Templates.

Category:Unfinished mission reports

See also: UniWiki:To-Do List

Stub pages are those which are not yet completed or are too short and need more information to be of use. Stub pages use the {{Mission stub}} template. When the {{Mission stub}} template is added to a page, that page is automatically included below.

Category:Work in progress

Articles that are in active development by one or more editors. This template is often used to replace {{update}} once updates are actually underway. Use of this template should be temporary; it should be removed if found on an article that has not been updated within the past several weeks (and perhaps replaced again with {{update}}, if appropriate).

New, unfinished articles should be developed in a User sandbox, and thus should not require this template.

Pages categorized under Work in progress use the {{Work in progress}} template.

When the {{Work in progress}} template is added to a page, that page is automatically included below. When the {{Work in progress}} template is removed, the page is automatically removed from this page. Hence, the links on this page should not be edited directly.
