Dessy gangs are usually used to either kill a single target fast under the nose of a stronger fleet and then run or to kill as many ships before everyone is dead. As Dessys are usually fit for close range to maximize dps, you need to get in your engagement range. Unless the targets are at a warpable object, you usually will try to get a warp-in or a punt onto a target.

Hydra Destroyer Fleet

General description
