The Low Sec Community is one of several communities within EVE University. What makes this community different is that it focuses on life in Low Security space in New Eden. It is currently located in the Faction Warfare space of Minmatar/Amarr with good connections to the Gallente/Caldari space, Jita/Dodixie, as well as our High-Sec community in Korsiki.

Community Details

LSC Headquarters : Isbrabata VIII - Moon 5 - Republic Security Services Assembly Plant - Clone Bay

Why LSC?

Lowsec space offers some of the highest risk-vs-reward gameplay in EVE Online.

Faction Warfare (FW) & PvP:

  • Faction Warfare: Capture sites and fight for territory to earn loyalty points and support your militia.
  • PVP Small Gang Roams: Small, mobile groups hunting targets and engaging in fast-paced fights.
  • PVP Fleets: Organized group combat with defined roles, coordination, and fleet command.

PvE & ISK Making:

  • Combat Sites & Escalations: Run NPC combat sites for loot, with chances to trigger higher-value follow-up encounters.
  • Mission Running: Complete agent missions for ISK, loyalty points, and standings.
  • Exploration: Scan and hack data/relic sites for valuable loot across space.
  • Clone Soldiers: Hunt Clone Soldier NPCs in lowsec belts for tags used in security status repair.

Industry & Resource Gathering:

  • Gas Harvesting: Collect gas from nebula sites used in booster and industry production.
  • Moon Mining: Extract moon ores from refineries for valuable minerals and reactions (Close to LSC in Audearne).
  • Mining: Harvest asteroids for raw materials used in manufacturing.

You will learn to evaluate danger, gather piloting experience, and develop your own methods of handling dangerous space; fight, flight, or mitigate. You don't need to bring anything, other than a sense of adventure and a willingness to ask questions.

Isbrabata sits next to Turnur, a hub for wormholes connecting to many regions. These are mapped by EVE Scouts and available via their public bookmarks EVE Scout website.

LowSec Skill Paths (LSC)

Living in LowSec means more PvP and that makes communication and individual performance critical. To help every Unista contribute, we've outlined essential skills and ships. Therefore, we drafted up some Skill Plans being a path for you in LSC.

Skill Paths

LowSec life centres on PvP, making communication and individual performance essential. To support all Unistas, LSC provides structured skill plans outlining key skills and ships.

Overview

LSC Skill Paths offer a clear progression from early PvP to advanced fleet roles. Each stage builds practical, immediately usable skills based on real EVE University doctrines and Flight Deck ships—train what you fly, fly what you train.

  • Starter (Alpha + Omega add-on): Core, universal skills and basic ships
  • Intermediate: T1/T2 frigates, destroyers, and early doctrine roles
  • Advanced: T2 cruisers, battlecruisers, and specialized fleet roles

The goal is to develop confident, adaptable pilots ready for anything from solo fights to organized fleets.

LSC Starter Skill plan

For new players:

Begin with the CORE 30 Plan, which prepares you for EVE Uni Flight Deck ships and beginner doctrines, providing the foundation for LSC.

LSC Starter (Alpha):

Focuses on core fitting, weapon systems, and entry-level PvP ships using “meta-down” fits for low-skill accessibility.

Key progression:

  • Tristan: - Early PvP / plexing (SCOUT sites)
    • Milestones: - Drone Rigging I, Drones V, Gallente Frigate III
  • Venture: - Gas mining/ore for income
  • Heron: - Exploration and scanning
    • Milestone: - CPU Management IV
  • EWAR - ships (Griffin, Maulus): Intro to electronic warfare

Omega add-on includes:

  • Cloaking (Heron, Sunesis)
  • EC drones (Venture)
  • PI hauling (Sunesis)
  • Clone management

Goal: Undock early, fight often, and learn through action.

LSC Intermediate Skill plan (in-work)

Builds on Starter skills and unlocks more capable ships:

  • KSG - Omen (T1): Beginner kiting DPS
  • LLA - Maller (T1): Entry armor fleet ship
  • Plexing - Catalyst: Agile, high-DPS FW plex runner

Faction Warfare

EVE University’s Low-Sec Community (LSC) participates in Faction Warfare on both the Amarr and Minmatar sides. We engage in complexes (“plexes”) and very occasionally battlefields to help Unistas learn Faction Warfare mechanics and gameplay. Whenever possible, we encourage members to collaborate with militia groups, giving them valuable experience working alongside established FW players and fostering connections with the wider community.

All activities follow EVE University’s Rules of Engagement and are primarily focused on NPC-driven objectives.

Faction Warfare is a dynamic and sometimes challenging environment. While we provide guidance where possible, some situations require adaptability.

Nomad Offices

Faction Warfare is highly dynamic, with Frontline system status shifting frequently. To support both Amarr and Minmatar militias from a fully serviced base, LSC aims to keep its HQ in Isbrabata as a Frontline system—this is a key objective for Unistas.

To ensure continued participation when Isbrabata is not Frontline, LSC maintains Nomad Offices. This provides access to free Flight Deck ships and selected FW ships via contracts, allowing Unistas to dock elsewhere while enlisted and fight their way back to reclaim Isbrabata.

When Isbrabata is Frontline, only a limited number of ships are stocked locally, with additional contract ships made available if Frontline status is lost. During conflicts, the Nomad Offices will be actively restocked to support militia efforts. It includes basic services (e.g., a clone bay), while full services like buyback and fleets remain centralized at HQ.

Important: Non-enlisted characters can always dock in Isbrabata. Enlisted characters cannot dock in NPC stations controlled by the opposing militia. Frontline systems are considered neutral and accessible to both sides.

List of nomad offices

  • Minmatar Office: Auner VI - Tribal Liberation Force Logistic Support
  • Amarr Office: Huola - Freeport Manufacturing Nexus

Secondary office for more strategic operations, serving both Militias, depending on how the map looks  ;)

  • Minmatar/Amarr Office: Dal I - Tribal Liberation Force Logistic Support

LSC Communication and Community Protocols

LSC uses several channels to share information and coordinate activities. Following them is important to stay informed and actively participate in the community.

Discord

  • #lsc-read-me: Quick starter guide (small intro for new players)
  • #lsc-general: Main chat (check pinned posts for updates)
  • #lsc-pings: Announcements and fleet pings (subscribe via EVE Uni AA)
  • #LSC Standing Fleet: Voice comms (join even if only listening)
  • LSC-Market: Forum-style channel for buying/selling within LSC

Ship Naming Schema

LSC uses a standard naming format to identify friendly ships on d-scan:

Format: AAA 123 + optional name

  • AAA: 3 letters from your main character’s name
  • 123: Any three digits that add up to 13
  • Optional: Personal text

Example: JOH 733 Pew

Alts should use the same 3-letter identifier as the main.

LSC Bookmarking Schema, WHs and Wanderer

LSC uses a shared bookmark folder:

  • LSC (EVE Uni): Open, community-maintained
  • It is linked in the Standing Fleet MOTD and should be active. All bookmarks use a 2-day expiry (no “never”).

Site Bookmarks (Non-WH)

Use prefixes with the default site name:

  • C – Combat
  • D – Data
  • R – Relic
  • G – Gas
  • O – Ore

Format: P XXX-### Site Name

  • C/D/R → “Explo & Combat Sites”
  • G/O → “Gas & Ore Sites”

Perches & Saves

  • Placed in root folder (not subfolders)
  • Temporary, 2-day expiry
  • P: Perches (e.g. “Perch 1”)
  • S: Safes (recommend personal folders for long-term use)

Wormholes

  • Bookmark on-grid (not from probe window)
  • Stored in root folder
  • Expiry: 2 days (or 4h if EOL <4h or mass <10%)
  • Maintain regularly; wormholes change frequently

Outbound (leaving system)

Format: .SYS# XXX-### DEST SIZE [EOL]

  • . = outbound (top of list)
  • SYS# = system + number (e.g. .ISB1)
  • DEST: HS / LS / NS / TR / C1–C6
  • Add ship size + EOL if needed

Example: .ISB1 XYZ-123 NS

Inbound (return path)

Format: *SYS# DEST SIZE [EOL]

  • * = return (“lifeline”)
  • Bookmark from the other side

Example: *ISB1 LS

LSC Wanderer & Mapping

LSC uses Wanderer (https://wanderer.eveuniversity.org/lsc), a browser-based wormhole mapping tool for visualizing J-Space and tracking wormhole chains.

Wanderer does not sync automatically—all scanned signatures, connections, and changes must be updated manually both in-game and in the tool.

Using wormholes is optional but highly beneficial for navigation and mobility.

Chain Naming

Numbers link in-game bookmarks to Wanderer chains:

Outbound example:

  • .TUR1 XYZ-123 M C2
  • .TUR13 XYC-234 C3
  • .TUR133 XYZ-345 HS

Return path:

  • *TUR133 → *TUR13 → *TUR1 (back home)

Important

  • Always mirror chain numbering in Wanderer
  • Remove outdated bookmarks and delete old chains in Wanderer
