The March 2020 patch removed mineable asteroids from most missions. I have seen the Veldspar still present in "After the Seven (Part 4)" (as of June 15th 2020) but the acceleration gate is only open to shuttles and burning beyond an acceleration gate into a deadspace pocket is technically an exploit.
