How To: Connect to EVE Online's Test Server - Singularity

A step by step guide on how to create and configure an installation to connect onto EVE Online's Test Server - Singularity

Why

In my opinion, it is the greatest place to test out ship setups other than....korsiki planet 2. Want to know how well that fit will tank? How much actual dps will your new guns put out? EFT is all well and good but until you really get the ship into a fight and see how it actually works out, EFT will only provide statistics.

"But I can do it in tranquility as well." Yes but you can do it in Singularity without risking millions of isks that you just spent on your newest internet spaceship. Because every single item except for factions (I think) are available in Singularity for 100.00 isk. Ships, modules...everything.

Where else can you buy 5 gallente carriers for just 500.00 isk (now if only I can fly it). You can practically test 100 different fits for battleships that you can fly, and lose them all and still make money to buy more from insurance! Are you seeing the potential yet?

FC's want to try out and practice new tactics but fear of getting screamed at if they lose everyone under your command. Have trouble with coordinating RR efforts among battleships or just unfamiliar with the whole thing and finding yourself shooting your fleet mates and repping your enemies instead? Grab a few buddies and get over to the test server and start practicing.

How

Ok having read through all that and you're thinking of exploiting this resource and asking how? EVE Online's own wiki has an article about the test server http://wiki.eveonline.com/wiki/Singularity. I'll also put a step by step guide with preeeetttyy peektures on how to get a working client that'll connect you to singularity.
