Removed part of fleet channels

Removed the large part on fully structured fleet channels (since we don't have one any more), and shortened the part on combat/public lounge to make it less talky.   I have both sections saved with wiki html codes intact if anyone wants them; evemail me. Kivena 23:17, 27 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Issue: (Vista x64) Mumble overlay not displaying

Fix:

The game's executable file was not in the whitelist. I spammed all the CCP\EVE executables to be found into the whitelist. Problem solved.

Instructions not matching Mumble

Some of the nomenclature withing mumble has changed regarding setting up a whisper key. The current intstructions do not match mumble.

Feel free to propose the changes by either creating a draft page or by sending it over to me on Discord. Don't forget to sign your Talk Page edits. It makes it a lot easier to see who wrote what without going into the Talk Page History. Arin Mara (talk) 14:37, 27 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Issue: PTT problems on Linux - Wayland

Linux users using the Wayland desktop manager are not currently able to configure global hotkeys in Mumble. This is a known bug as of 2022, with no prospect of being fixed, outside of either a) using an older desktop manager (which is running out of community support) or using a specific desktop compositor that allows you to set keybinds via a config file. Both are really janky workarounds that shouldn't be recommended.

Mumble audio still works, you just can't transmit with PTT. Per Intake, this is acceptable - just 'avoid taking special roles that require communication via voice'.

Mumble not used anymore

I think EVE University stopped using Mumble completely in favour of Discord. Should this page still exist or be archived? Malystrix (talk) 00:26, 29 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
