Commanding Officer (CO)

Rank: Captain

Role: The Battlegroup Commanding Officer (CO) is expected to be fully able to lead and command fleets, and provide leadership in times of war. The commanding officer has ultimate authority over the operations of their Battlegroup, and is given wide latitude to run the unit as he/she sees fit within the bounds of established Wartime rules and procedures and direction from the Admiralty. In this respect, commanding officers have significant responsibilities within the Ivy League Navy and Eve University to supervise the recruitment and training of Battlegroup personnel and maintain general combat readiness within their Battlegroup. Battlegroup Commanders carry the rank of Captain and with it authority to initiate a security lockdown at their discretion.

Executive Officer (XO)

Rank: Commander

Role:The Battlegroup Executive Officer is expected to be fully able to lead and command fleets, and provide leadership in times of war. The Executive Officer is responsible for the day-to-day operations of their Battlegroup, and is given broadly delegated authority to act on the behalf of the Battlegroup Commanding Officer in his/her absence and as needed to to maintain good order and discipline within the unit. To that end, the Executive Officer should monitor developing personnel issues closely and bring them to the attention of the Commanding Officer for action as needed.

N1-Personnel Officer

Rank: Lieutenant Commander

Role: Maintains database of active and inactive pilots, maintains the BG roster on the ILN forum and the ILN wiki page, works with the Intelligence Officer and the Operations Officer for specific role training (e.g. Scouts).

Sends weekly reports of pilots in the BG to the BG XO and recommends pilots for promotion to officer positions.

N2-Intelligence Officer

Rank: Lieutenant Commander

Role: Works closely with ILN Intelligence operators to keep up to date with enemy fleet movements, equipment and tactics, organizes training of scouts in conjunction with the BG Personnel Officer.

Sends weekly reports of Scout numbers and the training provided during the week to the BG XO, also reports on kills and losses of the BG during the week.

N3-Operations Officer

Rank: Lieutenant Commander

Role: Works with Battlegroup Leadership and ILN Admirality concerning ILN/BG events and operations. Organises BG and ILN specific events, operations, competitions, Etc.

Sends weekly AAR reports to the BG XO that covers the events held during the week that were organised by the officer, also covers the weekly BG patrol.
