Exordium is the EVE-online starter region, containing the starter and career agent[1][2] systems.

The primary hub system of Exordium, known as Manifest, is centrally located and within easy reach of all the other systems in the region. It includes an AIR Trade Center station, which serves as an excellent meeting and trade location, as well as the stargate to Yulai that serves as the primary entry and exit point for Exordium (The only way in).

A New Chapter Begins. You are leaving Exordium for the wider New Eden cluster, where capsuleers act freely and every choice shapes the future. Exordium remains accessible, but beyond its limits greater opportunities and risks await. This shipcaster sends you deep into this faction's territory, many jumps from the gate back to Exordium. The stars are only the beginning. Good luck, Captain.

Four shipcasters, each within an embassy constellation held by one of the four major factions, will provide a one-time use[3], one-way travel, from Exordium into highsec empire space.

Shipcaster locations[4]:

  • Tatrys to Onnamon (Caldari)
  • Mondaekus to Intaki (Gallente)
  • Dettisolin to Amo (Minmatar)
  • Ichorah to Mehatoor (Amarr)

Each one fast-tracks you directly into your chosen empire's highsec space.

The central CONCORD constellations contain the 12 starter systems, into which new players will be dynamically placed as they finish the AIR New Player Experience (NPE). These starter systems are not split split by empire. Instead, rookies will be placed based on the load of each system, so the region can dynamically adjust to accommodate periods of high newbie influx.

A Safe Space to Learn

PvP is a core element of the EVE Online experience and provides a crucial portion of the cycle of creation and destruction that drives New Eden’s economy. However, it can be stressful to know you’re at risk of PvP engagement before you’ve had a chance to learn the ropes, from basic movement controls to the major game systems and how they interact with each other.

Exordium has a “starter space” security tier[5] (1.0) that completely prevents PvP within its borders. While players are in Exordium, their safety will be locked to green, and other normal methods of legal engagement in highsec, such as limited engagements (duels), wars, and factional warfare, will not apply.

Pilots that enter Exordium through the Manifest gateway have their safety forced to green. When leaving again it will flip back to whatever setting it had before entering.

Pilots with combat flags such as suspect, criminal, and limited engagements cannot jump into Exordium or undock[6] within the region until their timer expires.

Restrictions

Exordium also has several restrictions and limitations to preserve EVE Online’s balance. These include a curated set of PvE content[7] available, higher taxes, higher fees for manufacturing, research and invention, decreased opportunities for value creation for most activities, and blocks that prevent use of player-controlled structures and deployables.

  • Additional 5% market fees added to non-instant orders.
  • Industry installation fees increased by 5% for manufacturing , material efficiency research, time efficiency research and invention.

Low Risk, Low Rewards

Within Exordium, all content presented will be achievable for rookie capsuleers. They can experience a wide variety of different activities, including combat, hacking, and mining sites, low-level missions, homefront operations, and more.

  • Mission ISK rewards, LP rewards, and NPC bounties reduced by 20%.
  • Ores found within Exordium are of a "Grade 0" type with lower mineral yield than their standard variants.
  • Exploration sites within Exordium contain distinct loot tables with lower value loot and items optimized for new players.
  • Homefront operations within Exordium have reduced difficulty, as well as reduced rewards.

Mentors and Mentees

Exordium is built for new players, but veteran players are also welcome to visit the region to meet and mentor new potential friends and corpmates.

To assist with corporation recruitment and freelance job broadcasting, the region layout has been designed with a central hub system that will have additional office slots, and that will be within four jumps of every other system in the region.

  1. ^ 2026-06-01: Career agents added. Patch notes: Version 23.02 Relase 2026-06-01.1
  2. ^ The "old" starter and career agent systems have not been removed. Any capsuleers who have entered EVE before the Cradle of War expansion will continue their new player journey using the still existing systems spread around highsec.
  3. ^ From the Forum:
CCP Fozzie (apparently on Discord ): One other thing I’ll note because I realize it’s not mentioned in the blog: the shipcasters from this space can only be used once per character (they’re intended as one-time-use shortcuts) to limit power projection issues

  5. ^ Highsec systems that previous to the Cradle of War expansion had a security rating of 1.0 had their rating adjusted to 0.9
  6. ^ This was in the expansion notes. But PvP in Exordium and entering with an active flag are not possible. Can clone jump be done?
  7. ^ Only level 1 and level 2 security and mining, Paragon and Sisters of EVE agents are available.
