Qato Vollan (pronounced: [‘keɪtoʊ vɒ’læn]) joined EVE University not long after receiving his pod pilot licence in early 2008. He signed on as a Recruitment Officer shortly after joining, and enjoyed torturing new applicants so much, he was eventually made a Senior Recruitment Officer. When life as an SRO slowly began to drive him insane, he decided to enlist in the Ivy League Navy, joining the ranks of what was then Battlegroup III. Following the time-honoured tradition of assassinating his superiors, he rose through the ranks to become CO of his Battlegroup, becoming the longest serving of any Battlegroup CO by remaining ever vigilant against his XO poisoning his Quafe.
Towards the end of his term as BG3 CO, Qato joined the Education Department as Events Manager and quickly developed an affection for Free For All events, revelling in the mindless destruction. Following Neville Smit's elevation to the lofty heights of Director of Education, Qato moved from events to become Teaching Manager, and now spends his time chasing the faculty around PTS with a crude, home-made cattle prod.
