: Alt referring to an alternate account might be specific to an MMO you have played before but in EVE Online, as with other MMOs where multiple characters are allowed per account, an alt has always been tied to the character and not the account. : I would argue it's either. That the term is and should be used generically as it often does not matter if the alternative character is on an another account or not.
