We recognize that Eve University is first and foremost a place of learning. With that in mind, some of the roles in the department can be done with next to no training and minimal skill points. Other industrial jobs require months or even years of dedicated training for both the character and the human player. The following pages provide some general information regarding the deep complexity of industry in Eve Online:

* Preparing for Incursions, lists all the skills required to fly, both for damage dealers and logistics, as well as hacker/scouts and pickets.
* Industry, gives basic information regarding industry and the ingame industry window in Eve Online.
* Vanguard Incursion fits, has all the minimum fits for running vanguards with us (don't worry about assault fits when you're new).
* Manufacturing, explains how to build things.
* Incursions checklist, explains all the safeguards we have, what we do to keep safe while running.
* Research, provides instructions for improving blueprint originals in terms of time efficiency and material efficiency. Also describes the procedure for copying blueprint originals to produce blueprint copies, and why a person would want to do this.
* Roles in Incursions, goes into more detail for each role, so you can come prepared knowing what is expected of you.
* Invention, takes the reader on a trip down the rabbit hole that produces advanced T2 modules, drones, ammunition, and ships.

Nomadic lifestyle
Incursions are nomadic in nature with a single focus lasting from anywhere between a day up to a week, but usually only for a few days, forcing the community to constantly move in order to continue taking part of the content. We use the mailing list to let people know where we are. See longevity for more information on how long an incursion usually lasts and selecting a focus for a guide on how to decide on where to move and how to inform everyone, as that is a communal effort.

Since EVE University is often at war, this means that unistas need to take care while moving between incursions and we run with pickets to ensure that war targets can't sneak up on us. See wartime logistics for more information on how to safely move your ship between focuses (then move your main unista safely in dedicated ships for moving around like shuttles and travel-atrons which are often available in campuses) and if you temporarily need help moving your ship while training the valet alt, let us know ingame or on slack.
Skill Points
The links provided above discuss some skill point investments that are relevant for specific tasks. Players are strongly encouraged to train skills that support the activities they enjoy doing in the game. In general, the following skills are most useful for unistas who wish to support the production department:

Being in high security space, people with tag below zero low security status will need to be aware of the effects of low security status, such as travel restrictions.
* Skills:Production#Industry, reduces manufacturing time, and is also a pre-requisite for a great many production-related tasks ingame.
* Skills:Production#Advanced_Industry, further reduces manufacturing time, and also reduces research time.
* Skills:Production#Mass_Production and Skills:Production#Advanced_Mass_Production, allow additional manufacturing job slots.
* Roles in Incursions, goes into more detail for each role, so you can come prepared knowing what is expected of you.

Forming fleets
advanced ships
Most fleets form on the fly using the ingame chat channel and by pinging Slack. When we have enough people to start running we'll continuously keep people up to date on the status of the fleet in the chat channel. Planned fleets are announced through the mailing list as well as Slack.
drug manufacturing
supply chain management for convenience

The more people who schedule or form fleets, the more interest and activity we get, so see the forming a fleet guide for more information on how you can do this and aid us in our communal effort to create more content.
It should be noted that most of the above skills rely on attributes of Intelligence and Memory, for those students who are familiar with neural remapping (Skills_and_learning#Neural_Remaps)
