Rennie theMuckster, or Rennie the Eternal Rookie's Learning Tree

Taking the Wiki class. I will not speak about myself so boldly that it may not be true. I'm a learner and this will be the same at the end as it is in the beginning.

What I Have Learned

Through Experience

There is a real world out there.

Don't ever leave your ship by itself in space. You might lose it.

Pay attention to where your purchase is located. It might be many jumps away.

Insure your ships.

Don't wander where you can't meet the enemy in kind.

How to publish a poem to my wiki page. (each line is a paragraph).

Before manufacturing, calculate, calculate, calculate.

I learned that even I can teach.

Manufacturing takes a long time and mining can be so boring. But the earnings may make that all worthwhile.

Through Teachings

Everytime I read this, I pick up useful info I missed: [Setup]. This time I realized I didn't need to have planets and stations listed because all I have to do is right click --Rennie themuckster 16:49, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

I got this through Chat E-Uni: Human Beings can be items to be bought and sold. Labor units in other words. I understand this. We are corporate beings and that's what corporations do. --Rennie themuckster 16:49, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

POS = Player owned structure. Not exactly a teaching but check out this lexicon: [[1]] --Rennie themuckster 16:49, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

I have been taught many things but have only now begun to write them down. For any new recruit who should wander here: To learn, talk to your fellows, in chat (freely) and if appropriate in corp (use sparingly). There are also many classes in archive and current and guides to where to start. And there are forums where all the wisdom of your corpmates is gathered. And although I have yet to find a mentor, that is another way. --Rennie themuckster 01:40, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

Through trial and error

Again I have learned many things through this route, perhaps more than I bargained for. But sometimes it is the best way. It is different from experience. In experience, things happen. But through trial and error, you make things happen.

Not sure whether to put this under teaching or trial and error. I think I need a new section for info search: [[2]] - excellent grid for ore location. Also for what ores become after processing: [[3]] --Rennie themuckster 20:12, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

I found out I could create nesting folders in Notepad - under Accessories on sidebar. --Rennie themuckster 22:34, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

Star Songs of Rennie theMuckster, Explorer

On Entry

The swirl of clouds

Out the wormhole gate

Takes me flying into the storm.

I sing unrhymed but in tune with the stars.

Stars become my home my world.

I search them all and learn their names.

They know me as none can.

They know my secret names ones born

From a different universe.

A different home.

I'm Rennie theMuckster, Explorer. This is star date 2010 06 21, 4:00 Eve Time.

--Rennie themuckster 04:05, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

My Ships

I have a ship in every station.

But only myself to fly them.

When will I have a home?

--Rennie themuckster 01:14, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

Path to the Sun

These asteroids stretch a path

To this planet's sun

Perhaps one day I'll travel these stones

Leaping sans ship through the great unknown.

--Rennie themuckster 20:20, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Winds of Kansas

Warp sounds like the harsh winds

Over the cold plains of Kansas.

How is it I know of Kansas?

Or that the plains are cold?

--Rennie themuckster 02:10, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

Ancient Glory

On the long monotonous warp from star to star,

I read a book on ancient glory.

--Rennie themuckster 17:46, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

Rennie's Story

Day 28 of my rebirth. Day 1 of this story. An orphan. Want to explore more than anything, my drifter heritage. To find archeological sites and strange new worlds. I'm of mixed blood but know only the above. Minmatar. I stumbled into this universe somehow from somewhere. I am of three. They call me dreamer. I can't see the battle until it's in front of my face and then I will fight if I must. Right now I lose more battles than I care to count. There's much to learn beyond my dreaming and I must learn it. I want to be remembered and written in the chronicles of time.

Rennie's Losses

I have had to relearn a lesson or two: yesterday another ship loss. It wasn't insured and curiosity only took me where I shouldn't have gone. --Rennie themuckster 02:24, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Most recent -- on mining far from my home system, on my way home with a new command center for my planet, I leave for a bit, not paying attention. It was to be safe there, but not so. I return to a pod only and no command center. My wreathe is gone, destroyed. Serpentis is driving out the miners? So it seems.

What I have learned. Not to leave while my ship is in space.

--Rennie themuckster 01:21, 25 June 2010 (UTC) Today - my curiosity got the best of me and I went to visit a wreck site in lo-sec space. What a surprise. Another slasher gone, destroyed by giseli pirates.

What I have learned. Pay attention to where I am and rein in my curious nature if I can't handle the heat.

Insure my ships. --Rennie themuckster 01:21, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

Rennie's Gains

Today, a skillbook and isk. and some ships. --Rennie themuckster 05:41, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

From the Uni - a new skillbook. High speed maneuvering and I have added it to my queue. I claimed a new certificate today also, Active Shield Tanking, Basic. That's all today. Perhaps tomorrow will bring more.

--Rennie themuckster 01:30, 25 June 2010 (UTC) Since the above I know I've claimed more skillbooks and recently purchased the planetology skillbook after running career agent missions for a second time. The last time I lost my ship more than once, but this time I'm proud to say I never lost my ship. --Rennie themuckster 01:30, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

A benevolent fellow pilot bequeathed me quite some isk. And I thank him for that should he find this page. --Rennie themuckster 01:34, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

and now for the learning tree . . .

although I may move this to the first position, and please let me be so humble as to say, I learn from others. This learning tree links to others teachings and to those few things I learn and know. I might be wrong or filled with hubris please, but for you, Newcomer, I will carry on.

I stumbled for many days and thought this would have been the guide for me had it been here. Maybe it is here but I haven't found it. In which case I will remove this tree.
