CODE., formally known as The New Order, is a prominent player alliance in EVE Online. Operating almost exclusively within high-security space, CODE. is overwhelmingly known for their organized suicide ganking activities focusing on high-value targets, mostly hauling ships such as freighters carrying valuable items or scam contracts. However, they also perform continued assaults on mining operations (albeit in a much minor scale and often centered around popular ice mining systems) against players multiboxing several accounts or AFK mining, activities the alliance identifies as "bot behaviour," and which they consider to have detrimental effects to the health of the game's ecosystem.

A polarizing group, CODE. was officially founded in December 2012 by a player known as James315, who proclaimed himself as both the "Father of the New Order" and "Saviour of Highsec." Since its inception, the alliance has claimed to abide to what they refer to as "The Code," a set of rules that determine the purpose, procedures and restrictions that would allow members to achieve the alliance's end goal.
However, there exists overwhelming evidence of alliance members purposefully ignoring their code, or adapting it to fulfill or justify the alliance's for-profit operations, to which "The Code" makes no reference to whatsoever.

This behaviour has led to extensive criticism of the alliance's activities and how they are at odds with what the alliance claims to achieve. The prominent use of ransom and extorsion practices such as "bumping" and mining permits has led many players to actively oppose and challenge the alliance, in either active or passive ways. Groups such as the High Security Militia have assembled to thwart and combat what they refer to as "abusive" practices. Other major groups and unoffical alliances such as those operated by ice mining and hauling corporations have also actively opposed the activities of CODE. as well as adapted their modus operandi to avert the thread of suicide ganking.
