Attacking the Komni Envoy after talking to him does not affect the mission. Its missiles do EM damage. It is ewar invulnerable and may drop an implant or "Komni History (1 of 2)" and "Komni History (2 of 2)" books.

We know where their ships are headed, though, and we need you to intercept them before they manage to jump out of this system. This might be our last chance of getting them before they vanish into deep space, so please hurry!}}
