This section consists of various Battleship fits which are generally effective. They are not a part of the official EVE University Inucrsion Community doctrine because they are not ''best in class''. Generally, you will find more use from buying one of our official doctrine ships, as they are compatible with headquarters sites, where these fits are not generally accepted in those public communities. Some fits, like the Abaddon, are not useful because the doctrine contains a suitable alternative (the Apocalypse Navy), some are simply bad (the Bhaalgorn), and some represent a progression towards a ship that, while we accept, we don't recommend (the Tempest, Tempest Fleet Issue, and Machariel).

Before buying any ship - be it one of our official doctrine ships (that we recommend), or one of the ones listed below (which we suggest you don't) - consider whether you could simply be using the progrma of loaner ships that the EVE University Incursion Community provides. In particular, we would suggest using those loaner ships (a Pulse Praxis, a Blaster Praxis, or a Vindicator) instead of buying a tech 1 battleship (including empire faction ships such as the Apocalypse Navy, Tempest Fleet, and Megathron Navy). We suggest this because the upgrade from Praxis to tech 1 battleship is minimal, and once you have purchased a tech 1 hull you will in very short order want to upgrade further to a pirate hull. Thus, we ''strongly suggest'' you wait to buy your own ship until you can afford a pirate hull and its fittings.
