| width="40%" | I think I meet all of the requirements, yet have not received my title. Is this normal?
| This is perfectly normal. If you feel that you are eligible for a title, then you still need to apply for it. Until you have submitted your application nobody will be able to process your request and, if you really are eligible, approve it. Additionally, while you may already meet the requirements for a title, the title still needs to be applied manually by a Director.
| Yes. To hold one of the progression titles, you will need to apply for it through the Portal. A progression officer will then individually review it. The in-game title and its associated permissions will then have to be applied by a director.

| Be patient. The tool may just need a little more time to update or it is having issues again. Usually most of these issues solve themselves given time.

| The out-of-game tool says that I have a title, but the game doesn't.  Why?
| width="40%" | The Portal says that I have a title, but the game doesn't.  Why?
| The out-of-game tool is what the Titles Staff uses to manage the applications. If that tool indicates that you 'have' a title, it really means that Titles Staff have 'approved' you for that title. Now your title application has moved into a different queue and is waiting for a Director to actually apply the title ingame.  However, this still requires a Director to log in, and decide to spend time playing apply-titles-online instead of flying their internet spaceships. So if you notice this change in the out-of-game tool, then you may still need to wait several days for a Director to apply the title (sometimes longer).

|Do I need to have been an Omega clone at some point for all three progression titles?
| width="40%" | The Portal says that I don't have any titles, even though I already hold one.
| No. Currently Alpha Clones are allowed to apply for the Freshman title.
| This is a bug on the Portal: it shouldn't affect your title in-game. Please don't reapply for a title in this case, the bug corrects itself after a while.

| Do I need to maintain an Omega Clone state all the time in the Uni?
| width="40%" | Do I need to have been an Omega clone at some point for all three progression titles?
| No. There must only be evidence that you, at one time (even before your time with the Uni), held the Omega Clone state.
| No. Our titles are open to all EVE University members regardless of clone state.
|- valign="top"
|- valign="top"
| I understand that the information available by CCP via the API does not show Clone status, what criteria does the Uni use to verify that I was once in an Omega Clone state?
| width="40%" | Do I need to maintain an Omega Clone state all the time in the Uni?
| At the moment, you must have injected the Auto-Targeting missiles skill (it is cheap, and you don't even need to train it), as that is what we use to test whether you were ever Omega.
| No.
|- valign="top"
| If I once held a progression title and left the Uni or otherwise need to get a progression title back, do I need to be in Omega State?
| No.  If you already held a particular progression title, you may apply for a 'Returning' title in the Alpha clone state.
|- valign= "top"
| I'm mostly an Alpha state player, and I don't want to gamble a month of Omega state if my application for a progression title isn't successful.  What should I do?
| If that is your concern, remain in Alpha state and apply for the title.  If the only problem with your application is your clone state, a Titles officer will contact you and let you know (if there are other problems, they'll let you know that, too).  Then you can activate Omega state, notify the Titles Officer, they will check, and then grant you your title.

| No, but it might help. If you think that your activities and participation in Uni activities is not well-recorded for Titles Officers to discover in Forums, KB, etc., then you may wish to include a reference that can provide more information about your activities. Including a reference is not required for your application, it is a way to provide extra information.
| No, but it might help. If you think that your participation in Uni activities is not well-recorded enough for progression officers to discover through the forums, discord or killboard, then you may wish to include a reference that can provide them with more information. Including a reference is optional.

| width="40%" | I'm applying for Graduate, do I need to include a reference?
| No, only under unusual circumstances. The requirements for graduate are such that it is extremely unlikely that your mastery of the game or your service to the University would be hard for a Titles Officers to discover.
| No, but again it might help. Your in-game mastery or your contributions to the Uni should hopefully be easy enough to find through other means.

| width="40%" | How do I include a reference properly?
| In the text box of your application, indicate the character who would be a good reference, and state why they would be a good reference. Spelling their name incorrectly such that Titles Officers cannot search for them in-game will result in the reference being ignored in your evaluation.  Just indicating that you are active in a particular part of the Uni without giving us a specific player name will not help.
| While submitting your application, mention your reference by name and and state why they would be a good reference. Please make sure you spell your reference's name the same way it's found in-game.

| If you list a reference in your application, the evaluating Titles Officer may choose to contact them. The listed reference will receive an in-game EVEmail or an out-of-game Forum PM from a Titles Officer, asking the reference about what they know about the applicant relevant to the applied-for title. Whatever response the reference provides will be taken into account when the Titles Officer evaluates the application.

How does Titles Staff evaluate my Sophomore application?

Titles Staff checks these three components for all Sophomore applicants: wiki, forums, and killboard, because they are easily evaluated without you (the applicant) having to do much.  However, lots of students participate in a variety of other activities that aren’t easily tracked by the game or the EVE University servers.  Incursions, AMC, and Solitude are examples of PvE activities that can be hard for Titles Staff to evaluate (although there is no reason why participating in those campuses wouldn’t lead to activity in the wiki, forums, and killboard).  In these cases we can rely on references.  If you feel that you are active in some way that we won’t be able to assess, then in the text of your application give us some names of individuals that can vouch for your activities.  These people could be Mentors, Campus Officers, or other students that hold the Graduate Title.  Titles Staff will contact them and ask them about your ‘active participation.’

Contribution to the wiki shows participation, but it isn’t for everyone.  If you are actively participating in the EVE University forums, that goes a long way, too.  Titles Staff does not just count how many posts you have, we read most of them (that’s right)!  Saying hello, thanking people for teaching a class, putting in requests for LSC and NSC shipments are fine, but they aren’t considered ‘active participation.’  Getting involved in discussions in a real, meaningful way is what we look for.  That being said, trying to over think whether your forum activity ‘counts’ or not and second-guessing every post probably isn’t a good approach.  We also examine your EVE University killboard.  It is a way to measure your activity in the PvP aspect of the game.  We look at the frequency patterns in your kills and losses, we examine your losses for fits and for comments.  We expect to see an improvement over time (comments should demonstrate what you learned from a loss, and we should see your fits improve over time, too).

The Titles Staff does a deep review of your wiki contributions and your body of work as represented by your forum posts and killboard searching for the Graduate qualification aspects .  Just as with Sophomore, if there are activities in which you engage that would demonstrate the key aspects which we look for in Graduate applicants, but which are not reflected in those areas, then you need to tell us about them in your application, and provide references, if needed.

The Graduate applicant should demonstrate that they have mastered a range of aspects of EVE gameplay and mechanics.  You aren’t expected to know everything about EVE, but you should be extremely knowledgeable about several areas of EVE gameplay.

| Our current procedures require you to apply for ALL titles. This includes former titles. Detailed instructions may be found here. Since this may take a while you should better be really sure about leaving before you drop your roles and titles.
| No, you will need to reapply for your previously-held titles on the Portal. The Portal will let you reapply for the highest title you held right away, so you won't have to fill out separate title applications again.
|- valign="top"
| I recently returned to EVE University. When I checked my ingame employment history I noticed that it thinks that I have only been in the University for a few days rather than several months. Will the Directors be able to tell my actual time in the University and that prior to leaving I was a Sophomore?
| Do not worry, your complete time in EVE University will be recognized. Also the titles tool will tell the Titles Staff which titles you have held before you left. Remember that you are now required to apply for ALL titles. This includes former titles. Detailed instructions may be found here.

| When I was in the Uni before, I had this great vanity title that I'd like back, how do I go about doing that?
| Titles Staff can not help you with the reinstatement of vanity titles. Vanity titles are bestowed only by Directors at their capricious whims. If you want them back, you will need to convince, cajole, and/or sweet-talk a Director into giving it to you. However, be careful, because they might not give you the one you want.

| width="40%" | I used to hold a progression title on a character that is no longer in the Uni. I've rejoined the Uni on a different character, can I regain my previous title?
| Yes. Please specify your last character's name in your title application, and the title from your last character will be applied to your new one. In the case of Graduate, only the title will be reapplied.
|- valign="top"
| width="40%" | I currently hold either Freshman/Sophomore/Graduate on one Uni character, how can I get the same progression title across my additional characters?
| To get your progression title awarded to your uni alts, you need to make sure that your alt is linked to your main character on the Portal, and then apply for the titles that your main character holds separately.
|- valign="top"
| I have two or more characters in the Uni, which one should I apply for a new title on?
| For simplicity, we ask that you apply on the character that you think best meets the title requirement. Once that has been approved, you can apply for the same title on your additional characters if you wish to.
|- valign="top"
| I have the Graduate title, can I have the medal on more than one character?  I am willing to pay for the medal.
| The EVE University Graduate medal will only be awarded to one character in your possession. We currently do not allow members to purchase the graduate medal on additional characters and have no immediate plans to change this.
