As long as you immediately begin moving quickly upon landing in the pocket its damage is survivable. Theoretically it deals upwards of 500,000 EM damage with each shot but the torpedoes have capital-ship sized damage application (10,000m), and they are fired extremely slowly (every 120 seconds).
