The administrative control of the mining fleet rests in the hands of the Fleet Boss (FB). The FB also has the responsibility to appoint a chain of command (second in command, third in command, etc.) in the event the FB disconnects or must leave the fleet before it is complete. The route of removal, the flow of ore from asteroid to refinery and thence to market, must be as short as is practicable with respect to both he tactical and strategic situation. Haulers are vulnerable to ganking at any time and so should be in space with cargo as little as possible. Routes of removal should ideally be contained in one system. If this is not practicable, the hauler should use the shortest route. This rule of thumb must be balanced against natural bottlenecks and the possibility of a harassing force anticipating your route of removal. As such, if practicable. multiple routes of removal should be established and haulers should use them randomly.
