For people who just come to the event to give a try to abyss deadspace for the first time, and don't want to spend the time/ISK into their own Abyss cruiser, I'm working on low SP ships that could be lent for the duration of the event. (can be contracted back to the organiser at the end. Jita sell price of ammo & consumables might be deduced if you burned a lot of them).

However, abyss sites (even T1 sites) aren't a walk in the park: the fits might have low SP requirements, but you have to know what you're doing. The ship are lent in exchange of a collateral: you afford the loss. It's recommended that you get used to flying the cruiser on L2 missions, and that you read about abyssal deadspace ([[Abyssal Deadspace|wiki is a good start]]). It's recommended to be able to apply 200 DPS on battleships to run abyss sites (I remember stats from CCP showing a great increase of player death under this cap).

These fits are here to provide a safe way to run abyss sites for newbros. They have low SP requirements, are overtanked for T1 sites, and shouldn't punish too hardly bad positioning. They aren't really made to win a speedrun contest (but you might be lucky & get easy engagements). You'll have to come with your own fit for speed.

* A kiting fit made to engage around 8-20 km range.

* Pass under the guns of battleships: orbit at 5km and apply antimatter on wounds.

* Kite anything smaller. You are largely capstable on the MWD + guns. Frigates & drones will still catch up to you, but burning away from them should reduce angular speed enough to apply damage.

* Primary targets are scrams & webs: if you loose your mobility & stuff pass under your guns, you're dead. Secondary target are neuts.

|'''Devola's notes:'''<br />

*Brawly fit. Approach targets at 5km, and wreck them.

* Default ammo should be Phased Plasma. Depleted Uranium is there only if you have a hard time tracking small fry.

* Webify everything you want to shoot. Tracking script by default, unless you can't get close, or for enemies requiring some range.

* Pass under the guns of anything bigger than a cruiser, except Tessera battlecruisers: dictate a relatively long range for them.

|'''Devola's notes:'''<br />

* Somewhere between brawly & kiting fit. Poor tracking, but good application at 7km-15km. You want to fight/kite at the limit of the webifier range.

* You don't like neuts, web & scrams. Shoot them first.

|'''Devola's notes:'''<br />

Passive shield tank, with a good buffer: regen 75 EHP/s with Gamma effects for day-1 pilot, 100+ with all-4 shield skills.

* The drones should do most of the damage. The guns are just a small increase of DPS.

* Your goal is to keep your drones alive: that's why you have a repper. Rats like to shoot drones: don't let them die.

* Don't send your drones in Automata Suppressor range. Don't forget to scoop the drones before going into the next pocket.

Abyssal Deadspace speedrun contest

The Abyssal Deadspace speedrun contest is an event template by Devola Gestalt; most of the information on this wiki page is copied from their post on the Events Planning forum.

Notes for the event organiser

Devola Gestalt

This event is a speed competition for the completion of T1 abyssal deadspace sites. Prizes should be something related to Abyss sites, organiser's choice.

Multiple rounds can be done in a single event. Between each rounds, there will be 10 min or so for people to either change their cruiser, or at least let them repair heated modules, ships, and refill ammo/cap booster/fireworks/exotic dancers... It is also possible for people to join/leave the event between rounds.

  • Filaments can't be activated less than 1000km of each other: it's recommended that the event organiser have a collection of bookmarks in the event system that are 1000km from and still on-grid each other to give out amongst participants.
  • The organiser give a different bookmark to each participant at formup: this is where they'll light their filament.
  • 1st fit check: people link their fit in chat.
  • Every participants gets into a cruiser (compliant with fit rules below) with a T1 filament of their choice, get into space and warp to their bookmark.
  • At the organiser's signal, everyone lights his/her filament at the same time.
  • The first one to get back alive (coming back by the clone bay doesn't work :) ) is the winner and get a price! To decide between close finishes, participants are required to X-up in local as soon as they come back from their pocket. Local chat order determines the winner.
  • Optional 2nd fit check: people can get ship/cargo scanned on grid. Either before a round, or after (much faster, as you only need to check the 1st few people who won a prize).

Event goals

  • An introduction to abyssal deadspace sites for newbro abyss runners...
  • ... while still being interesting/challenging to veterans, by being a speed contest
  • This is also a fitting/theorycrafting event. Event rules allow many fits/playstyles.

Scheduling

  • (Day, Date, Month)
  • (Time, Plus Event Duration Estimate)
  • (Form up Location)

Fitting

Devola Gestalt

For people who just come to the event to give a try to abyss deadspace for the first time, and don't want to spend the time/ISK into their own Abyss cruiser, I'm working on low SP ships that could be lent for the duration of the event. (can be contracted back to the organiser at the end. Jita sell price of ammo & consumables might be deduced if you burned a lot of them).

However, abyss sites (even T1 sites) aren't a walk in the park: the fits might have low SP requirements, but you have to know what you're doing. The ship are lent in exchange of a collateral: you afford the loss. It's recommended that you get used to flying the cruiser on L2 missions, and that you read about abyssal deadspace (wiki is a good start). It's recommended to be able to apply 200 DPS on battleships to run abyss sites (I remember stats from CCP showing a great increase of player death under this cap).

Fitting guidelines

This event will have restrictions on allowed hulls & fits. The goal of these restrictions is to prevent this event from turning into a bling contest with multi-billion ISK cruisers, to keep it accessible and fair for everybody:
-- subjective/arbitrary restrictions. Other organisers can use different rules if they wish so

  • Only T1 hulls. No faction/pirate/T2/T3 allowed.
  • Only T1/T1-meta/T2 modules. No mutaplasmid modules. No polarized weapons.
  • Only T1 rigs.
  • Only T1/T2 ammo, or faction ammo from the 4 main faction (Caldary/Gallente/Amarr/Minmatar). No pirate ammo.
  • Only T1/T2 drones. No Integrated/Augmented/Faction/Pirate.
  • Nanite paste & (navy) cap boosters allowed.
  • No implants / no drugs.
