Communications Department: Difference between revisions

EVE University aims to provide an inclusive training environment for capsuleers to learn about EVE Online. To fulfill this goal, the Communications Department supports the CEO and the Director of Communications & Outreach by:

#Managing EVE University’s social media presence.

#Promoting and maintaining EVE University’s external image with the wider community and CCP.

#Providing other EVE University Departments with creative services and communication tools.

The {{co|green|Communications Manager}} manages EVE University's social media presence, and deals with the external promotion of EVE University, as well as internal communications. The Communications Department supports the Teaching Department with the creation and maintenance of media, such as on the EVE University Youtube channel.

The Communication Officers of EVE University are a group of dedicated volunteers who regularly contribute to the different areas of communications work and have a special role in representing EVE University externally. They are the first point of contact for any Unista wanting to publish or promote their activities to a broader Uni-internal or external audience. If you need to contact the Communications Department for any reason, please ping <span style="color:#ffff00">@Communications Officer</span> in the <span style="color:#3366BB">#support</span> channel on the EVE University [[Discord]].

If you want to express your creativity, feel passionate about communication and want to give back to EVE University, we are always looking for people interested or proficient in the following fields:

* Creating posters and graphics, used in the promotion of staff recruitment, small and large events, public recruitment, propaganda, etc.

* Engaging in and curating our EVE University Youtube Channel and supporting the Teaching Department's use of it

* Creating videos or motion graphics

* Promoting and running Uni internal and external events (PvP brawls with friendly corps, mining events, raffles and giveaways etc.) in collaboration with the [[Events Department]].

* The spoken word.

* Anything else related to the concept of communication or creativity in the broadest sense.

* At minimum an EVE University Student.

== EVE University's Social Media presence ==

You are very welcome to check out our social media accounts and share and engage as much as you want to.

Many of the communication officers as well as other fellow Unistas are posting regularly on [https://www.reddit.com/r/Eve/ r/eve on Reddit].

Some classes and events are streamed to our [https://www.twitch.tv/eve_university Twitch] channel and as much as possible uploaded to our [https://www.youtube.com/@realeveuniversity YouTube] page. The EVE Uni Youtube serves as our primary social media platform.

We do not currently maintain a Facebook, Instagram, blog or any other social media presence not listed above.

Everyone can contribute to promoting [[EVE University]]. The simplest way of supporting us is by talking about your experience in the Uni on any of the social media channels and by guiding players, helping them answer their questions and ideally lightly point them to [[Applying to EVE University|applying to the Uni]].

If you are interested in creating posters (For example: WW2 propaganda-derived works, so ubiquitous in EVE) but do not want to join the staff itself, feel free to give it a shot and reach out to us if you need any help or guidance.
