The Stormbringer has extremely long range (max 119km, well beyond its max targeting range), and extremely durable shields for a non-T2 hull. Its single-target damage is very low, but if a group of Stormbringers is presented with a tightly-grouped enemy fleet, each Stormbringer can output close to ''1000 DPS'' distributed across the enemy fleet, at ranges that can only be met by Railguns. The damage from the lightning will not kill individual enemies very quickly, but it can create a snowballing situation that overwhelms hostile Logistics support and results in large groups of enemy ships spontaneously exploding as the Logistics pilots cannot spread locks and repairs quickly enough to keep up.
