Minor edit: Nyctef's use of "an" could be correct in a certain context.  If you internally say Microwarpdrive when you see MWD, you would use "a".  However, if you pronounce it internally as the letters (M-W-D), you would use "an" to create a pause between your article and the acronym.  So you both are correct in that case.
