I spent 65 days flying with Industrial Strength Killers. It was the first corp that popped on the list that claimed to be friendly to new capsuleers. They were friendly, but the environment was not. I struggled to learn the mechanics of what it was to be a pilot. To be a clone jumper. To find a purpose. Something was missing though. I was a solo Rifter pilot, trying to roam with other solo Rifter pilots. I tried to learn what I could when I could catch someone patient enough to teach. It was a steep learning curve, and ultimately, after 250 days I chose not to wake up in a clone and I slept for a really long time.

I reclaimed passwords, upgraded machinery, and began the long learning curve of finding my way around all over again. I'd been gone for too long, but I knew I wanted more out of my life here. Faction Warfare seemed like a logical fit for my goals. I wanted to learn as much as I could about fighting and piloting, and the only way I was going to learn was to fight. After such a long absence, I was your typical logical Sebiester and maintained my skill queue. A few reallocations here and there (I didn't need mining skills anymore) and I was ready.

Well, I wasn't afraid of dying, but I certainly was getting bored of dying. A lot. I very quickly knew I needed help and I needed to learn what I was doing wrong. I also knew I'd have to set aside my tendency to roam alone and join a group of people again. It needed to be a group of people that was patient, fun, and above all else, encouraging. A group of people that like learning by doing.

Finding EVE University was not an accident. Even though I was on hiatus from flying, I never left New Eden. I stayed on top of news, and happenings and EVE University was always on my radar, but the idea of roaming with others, joining fleets and asking people for help was all just too outside my wheelhouse that I never committed to joining. When I decided to fly again and return to my battle worn clones and beautiful Minmatar rust buckets, I knew I wanted to at least try and learn that aspect of piloting. I had to get over the fact that I needed help, and that flying with others was an aspect that I hadn't fully committed to learning.

Ben Dadunur - Freshman

New Eden

I woke up for the first time at 2012.03.03 05:14 in a barely functioning shuttle. I am a stalwart defender of my people and a proud member of the Sebiestor Tribe. After a few days of roaming, picking up mining jobs, and navigating the complexities of the market in New Eden, I had enough. I wanted to learn.

Industrial Strength Killers

2012.03.17 08:51 to 2012.05.21 23:48 (65 Days)

I spent 65 days flying with Industrial Strength Killers. It was the first corp that popped on the list that claimed to be friendly to new capsuleers. They were friendly, but the environment was not. I struggled to learn the mechanics of what it was to be a pilot. To be a clone jumper. To find a purpose. I'm a proud Sebiestor, but I needed something outside of running missions, or reprocessing ore.

That's when I discovered the joy of flying a Rifter.

Rifterlings

2012.05.25 00:33 to 2013.01.30 03:30 (250 Days)

Transversal; Autocannons vs Artillery; Manual piloting; Roam, engage, win or lose, go out again; Learn, download, inject, read, experiment. The core of what it means to me to be Seibestor; to be a capsuleer. Learn from others, and die less often.

Sebiestor Tribe - My hiatus from New Eden

2013.01.30 03:30 to 2022.01.13 03:08 (3269 Days) Every once in a while I would get pinged and would log into a clone for a brief time to check on things. I'd tweak a skill queue, read about fittings, get lost in the lore and history, then log off.

My return to New Eden 2022.01.16 20:32

Republic Military School 2022.01.16 20:32 to 2022.02.07 21:39 (22 Days) I reclaimed passwords, upgraded machinery, and began the long learning curve of finding my way around all over again.

Faction Warfare should be easy, right? I spent 250 days as a Rifter drifter after all; I wasn't afraid of dying.
