This was one of the first vessels the Sisters of EVE made available to capsuleers. Summary
The Nestor is the battleship for the Sisters of EVE faction, introduced in Rubicon 1.1. It has the largest drone bay of all subcapital ships and gets bonuses to drone damage and armor resists depending on Gallente Battleship and Amarr Battleship skills, respectively. Its role bonuses allow it to be fitted for a variety of tasks ranging from PvE mission running to small spider-repairing gangs (also usually in a PvE context) to wormhole exploration. Also, it is the only battleship-sized platform with remote armor repairer effectiveness bonuses, giving it a niche as a PvP fleet logistics battleship. Due to the remote armor repair bonuses, the Nestor sees frequent use in Incursions as a durable logistics platform.
The Nestor has an additional two features that make it stand out from other pirate faction battleships- its low mass (about 20% that of a regular battleship's), alongside its ability to be used as a mobile depot by other fleet members. Its low mass gives it a very good mass:EHP and mass:DPS ratio, important in wormhole space where certain wormholes can only accept ships up to a certain size, and wormholes are limited in the amount of mass they can allow through before they collapse.
Skills
- Amarr Battleship to at least IV to take advantage of the Armor Resistance Buff that comes with every extra level in the skill, and Gallente Battleship to at least IV to take advantage of the drone damage buff that comes with every extra level in the skill.
- Along with the requisite Engineering and Electronic Systems skills required for adequately fitting most ships. Weapon Upgrades should be trained to IV to allow the use of Tech 2 Drone Damage Amplifiers.
- Drones V, Drone Interfacing IV, Drone Sharpshooting IV, Heavy Drone Operation V and Gallente Drone Specialization IV/Minmatar Drone Specialization IV are all are important to field T2 Heavy and Sentry Drones in order to get as much DPS out of the 125mb drone bandwidth as possible.
- Hull Upgrades should be trained to level V to allow use of the T2 Armor modules.
- Capacitor Systems Operation IV and Capacitor Management IV, so you have enough Capacitor to run your reps.
- Remote Armor Repair Systems IV reduces the capacitor needed to run armor reps, and allows you to fit T2 medium and large reps.
