Some new players lose heart when they learn that training for some ships will take a long time, combined with the support skills and some other relevant skills, some ships can take a couple of months to train, even years and learning that some of the older players has significantly more total skill points than they are and that obtaining those amount of skill points will took a long time while catching up with the older players with the same skillsets proved difficult if not impossible. | ||
You have to realize that Eve is designed as a long term game, but that does not mean that you can not get what you want in much shorter term. Yes, support skills and some other core skills are important, but that does not mean that to pilot certain type of ship, you have to train all of the support skills relevant for that ship and all of it's modules to certain levels. For example, a new Caldari pilot can ride a Raven in just 8 days of training (without attribute remaps nor implants), if he wants to also train for its relevant support skills it would take him 2 months to train, while a more focused combat pilot and want to get the maximum potential of a Raven, could train all of the support skills and relevant damaging skills (dps) such as drones and that would take him 8 months to train. As you can see here, older players might have more skill points towards the Raven, but new players can get that same capabilities towards riding the Raven in a much shorter time, some of the difference in skill levels trained towards a Raven between a new player and a much older veteran player can be seen almost immediately like ([[Shield_Tanking#Shield_Tanking_Skills|T2 Shield Tanking skills]] | You have to realize that Eve is designed as a long term game, but that does not mean that you can not get what you want in much shorter term.
