Icon timer capsuleer.png The EVE University NullSec Campus does not have any mandated skill requirements for joining the Campus or participating in any Campus Fleets. This page aims to serve as a reference for new members to the Campus and to inform them on the recommended skills to fit valued fleet roles or carry out profitable activities safely within Syndicate

There Are No Mandated Skills!

Main article: Support Skills

On the off-chance that you missed the banner at the top of the page, THERE ARE NO MANDATED SKILLS required to join the NSC. Anyone in E-Uni can join the NSC, at any time. Completely new players are as welcome as veterans.

This page tries to point towards road maps for new players to train the appropriate skills to fly T1 Frigates, Destroyers and Cruisers within NSC fleets, so that members of the campus can gain the maximum enjoyment out of their time with us. This is a not a perfect skill plan to make you perfect pilot, nor is it specific to any doctrine. You do not need to follow it rigidly, and it is highly likely that the majority of players will already have most of these skills trained.

Again, these skills are NOT MANDATED. They are a guideline for those pilots who are unsure of how to train their skills effectively.

For New Players

Please see the Short Skill Plan. This plan can put an entirely new character in a battle-effective T1 frigate in just under 6 hours, and in a battle-effective T1 cruiser in less than 5 days. (Alpha clones will take approximately double these times.) T1 cruisers can earn good money at the NSC by ratting (the Gallente Vexor is the most common choice) and can pull their weight in small gang and fleet fights.

Basic Skills

After completing the Short Skill Plan, the next recommendation is to plot a route through the Pyramid Skill Plan that fits with your interests.

Training along the lines suggested by the Pyramid will vastly improve your ability to sit in various ships from the multiple PvP doctrines currently employed by the University, taking you towards T2 equipment and ships and polishing your core support and fitting skills. By making your ships more powerful, tougher, and more agile, it will also make your PvE or mining activities safer.

The NSC maintains a skill training incentive program to encourage pilots to prepare skills of particular benefit to the NSC community.

So what now?

The answer is... it is completely up to you. With a solid foundation of skills behind you, there are a number of different directions you could take.

  • The move from cruisers to battlecruisers is a short train. Battlecruisers use the same medium-sized weapons as cruisers, and currently offer good value in terms of ISK/damage ratio.
  • T2 Small and Medium weapon systems will allow access to T2 ammo types, improving a ship's DPS and opening up new tactical options.
  • Cross-training to another set of racial ships will open many options regarding which ships and roles a pilot can fly.
  • Sentry Drones and T2 Medium Drones are a great way to improve blitzing times for missions or belt ratting. They can also be useful in PvP, and many ships from each race have dronebays.

The choice is yours.
