Mission briefing
A short time ago, Minmatar terrorists in a combined fleet of frigates and cruisers attacked one of our Harbinger-class battlecruisers as it was transporting slaves from a recently closed mine to a new mineral harvesting facility in a nearby system. While all but one of the attackers was annihilated, our convoy's escorts were destroyed and our cruiser is burning. Making a bad situation worse, we are anticipating that the terrorists will return in force within the next several hours to attempt the theft of our slaves, as they almost certainly know the cruiser is alone and all but helpless.

Our concern is that if the terrorists feel that they have a window of opportunity to recover these slaves, it is likely that they will throw everything they have into the effort. Our intelligence assessments of the terrorists' fleet assets are even less reassuring: we believe that they could send as many as four battlecruisers into this fight – more than enough to wipe out the arriving frigates and forcefully board our heavily damaged strategic cruiser. However, we have calculated that if we can delay any terrorist boarding parties long enough, this should give us enough time for the much larger main rescue fleet to arrive.

The only bright side to this situation, in what is unquestionably an act of divine providence, is that a large contingent of marines are aboard this station as we speak, having just completed specialized refresher training in counter-boarding operations. We need you to deliver them to the station closest to the last reported position of our cruiser. From there, we will transport a combined team of marines, engineers, medics, and other essential personnel to hopefully stop the fire and save the ship - along with its cargo of highly valuable slaves. However, this mission must be undertaken immediately. Any delay will surely doom the Harbinger and her brave crew.
