Who am I... Former Unista that spent most of my time between the High Sec Campus and the Incursion Community. Was offered an opportunity to learn about a part of the game that the Uni is not suited for teaching (Sov Nul) and joined Digital Vendetta in Perrigen Falls. My time in Sov Nul, including the evac from Perrigen Falls, taught me a lot and exposed many short comings in both how the Sov Nul system works and skill sets I needed. Followed them to Placid to and spent a few months living the low sec life. This consisted of trying to find something to shoot and doing exploration. A group of us got tired of having nothing to shoot at and decided to give Pandemic Horde a try. Got involved with one operation but quickly realized that being just another cog in a 10K pilot machine was not for me.
Current Status: Adrift in Highsec, doing some faction standing repairs hoping to rejoin the Uni to focus on aspects of the game that I didn't quite get before leaving for Nulsec.
Ok, yea I'm learning how to use the wikitext as well...
Mission Hubs
Gallente:
Groun Investment Bank:
-
- Stou:
- Stou V - Moon 3 - Garoun Investment Bank Depository
- one Level 2 and two Level 3, Storyline Astral Mining Inc in same system.
- (Nice quite system just off the pipe between HSC/Stac and Dodixie. Rarely receive a lowsec mission and war targets rarely check this system)
- Amygnon:
- Amygnon VI - Moon 1 - Garoun Investment Bank Vault
- Amygnon VIII - Moon 5 - Garoun Investment Bank Vault
- one Level 4 mission per station
- (Current home to the HSC campus so easy opportunity to do group missions though can be problematic if war targets decide to come visit)
- Stou:
-
- Masalle:
- Masalle VI - Moon 9 - Federation Navy Logistic Support
- two level 2 and one level 3
- (On one of the two pipes between HSC and NSC. two mission giver for one level makes quick work of that level)
- Sortet:
- Sortet V - Moon 1 - Federation Navy Assembly Plant
- one level 2, one level 3, and one level 4
- (good station to setup a mission outpost in given the range of missions for Federation Navy in it. Is one jump out from Scolluzer so could potentially have a war target issue but it is centrally located between HSC, NSC and Stacmon.)
- Masalle:
Caldari:
- Ichoriya: (9 Jumps from Jita)
- Ichoriya V - Caldari Navy Logistic Support
- Ichoriya: (9 Jumps from Jita)
- two level 4
- Only constellation in Black Rise that is high security, does give the occasional low sec mission but with two agents in the same station you rarely have no missions to do.
- Uuhulanen: (8 Jumps from Jita)
- Uuhulanen X - Lai Dai Protection Service Assembly Plant
- one level 4
- Provides a third level 4 agent if the two Ichoriya agents are burned. There is a fourth level 4 agent in the system but it is for Lai Dal Protection Services)
- Kakakela: (2 Jumps from Jita)
- multiple stations
- four level 1, two level 2, and one level 4
- This system has a lot of lower level security agents in it for different corporations. It is also two jumps out from Jita which can be problematic for war targets if they go roaming)
- Suroken: (4 Jumps from Jita)
- Suroken IX - Moon 18 - Caldari Navy Assembly Plant
- one level 2 and three level 3
- (two jumps out of Uedama and you will be sent throughout the constellation which can make getting to and from mission sites stressful if you have war targets on the main pipe from Gallente space to Jita. Still three level 3 agents is a great opportunity. There is also a lot of other level 1 to 3 missions in the area for other corporations)
Mission Levels:
Level 1:
- These missions are extremely easy to do and not really worth much in the way of bounties, loot, and salvage. As such I prefer fast combat frigates over destroyers that can make quick work of the site and let me move on to the next mission. I do not feel faction or T2/T3 hulls give a significant advantage over a T1 haul and wouldn't invest in one unless I had other purposes for it.
Level 2:
- Once again these missions are fairly straight forward though a little more thought does need to go in to ship fitting. Pretty much any T1 cruiser will do just fine. Bounties, loot, and salvage are still not worth it at this level. As with the Level 1 missions, investment for a faction or T2 hull is not worth it for Level 2 missions. Some of the faction hulls and heavy assault cruisers can be used for Level 3 missions. In this situation the investment in one of these hulls could potentially be a viable option. As for strategic cruisers (T3C) I do not know at this time if they can be used in level 2 missions. That said given their costs both in training time and money I do not see this as a viable option for level 2 missions.
Level 3:
- These missions are where the difficulty starts to ramp up. I want to say this is where you start to run into NPC ships that will webbify and use EWAR but nothing warp disrupts and it's usually only one or two ships. Salvage, loot, and bounties are still lack luster though there can be exceptions to that. Just about every T1 Battlecruiser can do the job fine on these missions, it's just a matter of play style. Heavy Assault Cruisers can be used as well along with some faction cruisers but outside of some special circumstance (like getting a Hurricane Fleet Issue at the price of a Hurricane) I just do not see a need to pay for these hulls. Recently, I have completed several level 3 missions in a Caracal with heavy missile launchers and had very little trouble with it.
Level 4:
- These missions are where you will run into both EWAR and tackle NPC ships as well as potentially high levels of damage. I use Battleships to complete these missions. As this is the top end of mission levels that can be completed solo the investment in a faction or T2 hull becomes viable at this point. My current level 4 ship is a Raven Navy Issue fitted with cruise missiles an a micro jump drive. I also carry a mobile depot and some spare modules so that if I need to change fittings while out on site I can do that fairly easy. Loot and Salvage can be worth while at this level so carrying several Mobile Tractor Units to scoop everything in one place while I continue the mission.
Level 5:
- Require a fleet or a Carrier. Payout the same as Level 4. In low security space only.
The reward does not justify the risk.Doing as a fleet is not worth the effort. If you get a mission that a Carrier can on grid with then it can be completed quite quickly.
- Require a fleet or a Carrier. Payout the same as Level 4. In low security space only.
Low Security Life
Lowsec was a place I never liked going to when I was in the Uni. Sure I would join fleets to go hunting in lowsec but unless I was running to LSC to get a BPC that wasn't in Slays or HSC, running to Ouelette to get a skill-book or trying to get to NSC, I would have nothing to do with it. It was the place that only elite PvPers or dirty pirates would call home. What I have found is far from that truth.
Lowsec can be broken into to two different types; Faction Warfare(FW)lowsec and normal lowsec (AKA: everywhere else in lowsec). FW lowsec is where a lot of the fighting happens as the militias try to take or hold onto systems.
