'Draodh' is an old Scots Gaelic word meaning 'necromancer' or 'magician'. It's nearly impossible to pronounce correctly but it's somewhere between 'droid' and 'draid'.

Draodh wonders what possessed him to pick this name.

Fun fact: in Gaelic, the name 'Kirsty' is spelt 'Ciorstaidh'.
