The PvP Study Group is an initiative aimed at providing a structured, supportive, and non-elite environment for EVE Uni members interested in PvP combat within the game. The Study Group offers both low and high tier tracks, allowing players to specialise in PvP roles through skill plans, group practice sessions, and expert guidance.

Objectives

The primary objectives of the PvP Study Group are as follows:

  • Provide an accessible way into specialist roles for members interested in PvP but lacking extensive skill points or experience.
  • Allow players to explore different PvP roles and playstyles to find what they enjoy.
  • Introduce advanced tracks for players with higher skill points and more specialised interests in PvP, encouraging them to specialise in roles they enjoy.
  • Encourage members to actively engage in PvP activities and undock rather than relying solely on reading the wiki, etc.
  • Provide a supply of knowledgeable pilots who are able to fly specialist PvP roles in EVE Uni fleets, enabling EVE Uni FCs to use more advanced tactics like booshing, and sourcing recruits for stratop roles.
  • Cultivate connections with NPSI groups to provide our members with experience in alternate command styles and gain more combat experience beyond what we can offer within EVE Uni.

Opportunities

Members of the PVP Study Group have the following opportunities:

  • Group practice sessions where members can learn from experienced players, improve their skills, and receive real-time feedback.
  • Allowing Study Group members to share their experiences, insights, and lessons learned with other members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and community support.
  • Making use of experienced PvP players within the Study Group or seeking support from knowledgeable alumni, people from other corps, or NPSI communities who can provide guidance and assistance.

Tracks

Lower Tier Tracks

These are entry-level tracks open to any member. They assume no prior experience or skills.

  • Bombers
  • EWAR
  • Logistics
  • Scouting and Tackling

Higher Tier Tracks

These tracks are designed for more experienced pilots, who have higher skillpoints and a fair amount of basic PVP practice. They are intended to build on the knowledge pilots already have and train them in more advanced roles and tactics.

  • BLOPS
  • Booshers
  • Interdiction

Rules and Expectations

To maintain a strong learning environment within the PvP Study Group, the following rules and expectations apply:

  1. Study Group members represent the Study Group and are expected to maintain respectful interactions with each other and other members. Complaints or issues regarding attitude may result in removal from the Group.
  2. Members may swap in and out of lower tier tracks as they wish. Once they progress to higher tier tracks, members are encouraged to only join one track at a time and not to swap between them without careful consideration.
  3. Members are expected to act in a collaborative way and assist newer members in their training.
