Horde-Planetary Industry Templates

From EVE University Wiki

This guide was created on 2025-02-14 by The Legi0n while in Pandemic Horde.

Needed Updates to PI

Welcome to 2025.CCP Recently added the ability to copy and Paste setups that allow much faster setup for PI, and adds the ability to share setups between characters, accounts, and users. This has led to lower barrier to entry, and marks a dramatic shift in the world of PI, and newcomers should find templates an easy starting point.

Templates are accessed at the time of writing behind Feature Previews, which is accessible via your in-game settings menu in the picture below. Once you have enabled the Feature Preview, you are ready to select the Templates you wish to use. In this link

https://github.com/TheLegi0n-NBI/PlayingWithPP

You will find folders containing types of PI, as well as text files that contain the exports that CCP is using for templates. Once selected, copy into your clipboard the text of the PI you wish to make or extract.

Additionally, you can use this link below to generate specific templates that may or may not be in the library linked above. This does require a google account and some spreadsheet work. There is also a spreadsheet generator that will generate some more custom PI templates if you need one not in the library.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1f2YuUPOS3G3U6BqgNevRXqq_fanCz1LmtYNoxMp2zYY/copy

This creates a copy to prevent sheet issues.

Once you have Selected your template and have enabled the feature overview, follow the directions below.

1. Get into your ship of choice with Command center and enough startup isk (approx 50m)

2. Go to the system you wish to do PI in, and get safe - either via the staging citadel you will use for storage, or some other method.

3. Open the Planetary Industry Tab via your neocom

4. From the overview, the right click menu, or the system info box, select a planet you might want to establish PI on, select View Planetary Industry.

5. This will bring you to the scan and build menu. If you are scanning, you can find the resources from this planet and their concentration, as seen below.

6. If extracting, decide if the resources available are sufficient, and open the template menu. If you are creating a factory planet, just open the template menu. The Template Menu is located on the Build screen.

7. Place a Command Center somewhere on the planet by using the build menu and selecting Command Center.. You do not need to upgrade it yet, nor does its placement matter. Hit submit to start the Command Center Building.

8. In the Template Menu. Select the appropriate template from the template Library (or other source) and bring it to your clipboard via the copy function “Control +C”

9. Click on the import and Export button on the Template Menu.and load from Clipboard.

10. Once Selected your template will be brought into the editor on the planet you have chosen. There should be no errors, but If there are some it will tell you what you need.

11.The Confirm and Install menu will pop up - Its recommended currently to not Compress Pins, but it may be necessary on larger planets. Hit confirm and Install, and the template tool will build your template into the full editor with linkages. If there is an error here, it is likely due to planet size.

12. If the template works with no problems, hit submit to automatically upgrade your command center, build your PI template, and submit all edits. Your setup is complete!

13. To start your planet, you just need to add resources to the launchpads, and the templates and linkages will build the resources for you!

14*. Note - if you are building an extractor planet, you must place your own extractor heads before you are able to mine, and then must install the mining program into your extractor to extract your PI. Start by clicking on your extractor.

15. Select the install button, and select the resource you need to extract.

16. Add extractor heads by clicking install on the menu below. 5 heads per extractor if you are doing P0 to P2 and 10 if you are doing P0 to P1. Don't forget if you are doing P0 to P2 you have two extractors to set up.

17. Move the extractor heads in a spread over the resource you need, and set your extraction time. I don't suggest going below 1 day for your own sanity., and 2-3 days is common on P1 extraction, whereas P0-P2 usually has longer extraction times.

18. Once Complete, your extractors are complete, and you can select start extraction to start the planet!

Now that you are set up, your workflow is simple, and takes only a bit of effort every few days.

For extraction planets, you start extraction, and when full, you simply launch your goods to the skyhook or POCO that your planet is under, and then pick up the goods.

For Factory Planets, you launch your built goods to orbit, and drop off new goods to your planets.

1. To launch your goods, in Planetary Industry, the overview, or the system, and while undocked, you can go to the access customs office button.

2. Select a good, drag it to the Orbital Customs Office and click transfer. This will cost some isk.

3. Once transferred, your goods are now in space in the customs office.

4.Warp to the customs office in your ship of choice, and you can click and drag the goods into your Infrastructure or Planetary Commodities hold.

5. If you are running a factory, the process of installing your goods is the same in reverse. Place goods from your hold into the customs office, drag the goods to the planet and hit transfer. Most factories have multiple launchpads. You can find additional launchpad storage via the dropdown menu highlighted in the picture below.

Conclusion:

You should be set up, complete, and running factories and/or extraction. With your newly generated goods, you have many options to sell the goods. There are many buybacks that exist in Pandemic Horde, not to mention the main market and marketplace channels. For a shameless plug, Testament81 has been running one of the largest buybacks, info located here: https://www.e-351.com/buyback/testament Other buybacks are located in this thread: https://www.pandemic-horde.org/forum/index.php?threads/industry-buyback-freight-megathread.3759/

A Huge thank you to Razkin for making the spreadsheet work, and for the many Phil-P4 dudes who helped make this a reality.
