Ping Channels

• #PingNewFocus: One ping goes here when a new focus is selected. The message should be formatted as such:. DO NOT reply in this channel, except to correct an error in a focus announcement if the edit message period has lapsed. The format should be the same as a full ping message except with a *CORRECTION* header. The member pinging the focus should ALSO send out the in game focus eve mail if possible or if not possible arrange for someone else to do so. Anyone may ping a focus, however if you have not done so before please reach out to one of our experience members first for assistance and to double check your work.

• PingFleetForming: One PING at the START of a fleet. Generally done by the POC who is doing the forming. DO NOT reply to a message here. Replies belong in #TalkAboutPings, messages such as "Cassie Chow will be available to boost as soon as I get home are useful n the right channel, but they don't belong here.

Advanced Pinging: Advanced pining is authorized within reason, particularly if you plan a special or unusual timed fleet fleet. Please use your common sense. Examples of suitable advanced Pings: *48 Hr Warning:* Matt's Famous Drunk Fleet will be undocking at 1900 on Saturday or 1900 Fleet Forming Folded, will be attempting a reform in 2 hours at 2200. Both of these messages let the community to expect something different is going on and let people plan ahead to participate in a fleet.

Not Ok Sunday 0200 forming in 30 minutes. (This is a generally accepted normal fleet time, just ping when you the actual form up.)

Repinging Repinging is authorized in certain circumstances where the ping might get new members who would generally believed that the last pinged fleet s still running. For instance if the fleet has run for 2+ hrs and is on break and now needs more pilots to keep flying, a ping is warranted. Likewise a fleet that has run for 5 hrs (and is still running) and has space could consider a ping, especially if fleet members announce their upcoming departure and additional pilots are needed ex. 0200 fleet still running but will need a Logi in 30 minutes at 0700 to keep running. Also have space for DD. Not only has ths fleet run for a while, it now crossed into early morning in the EU TZ, so the new ping might catch EU players who have woken up.

DONT Send multiple messages in a short period: ex 1905 need DD and Log to run 1915: still need 2 more dd, but have logi and booster
