"We've run into a little trouble. Word has spread that Okelle Alash is being held captive, and his legion is going absolutely insane. Apparently it's all right for them to terrorize innocent citizens, but not for us to start hitting back. They're tearing through the constellation, firing at everything in sight and demanding that Okelle be returned to them in one piece. This, unfortunately, is no longer an option, not unless they have a surgeon on their team who specializes in reattaching fingers. We will have to fight them. Their fleet is disorganized as you'd expect pirates to be, but nonetheless they have a small scouting party that flies ahead and coordinates the primary fleet. You have to take out the scouting party first, so that the primary fleet will be left blinded and confused. Once you're done with that, report to me and we'll see if we can use you in taking care of the remnants of Okelle's fleet."

"Since the scouting party is dead and gone, we've got the primary fleet hanging around in space and practically begging for someone to blow them to pieces. Seeing as how you did such a thorough job with their scouts, you were naturally our first choice for taking on their big guns. Once you're finished with them, Okelle won't have anyone to help him except his brother. And once our interrogators are done with Okelle, he'll have given us all the information we need to hunt down Martogar. It's only a matter of time - that is, unless the primary fleet manages to deploy more scouts and continue their murderous rampage, so you better get on your way to stop them. This is an important mission, which will have significant impact on your faction standings."
