Eve University Mentor Program

This information is current as of: February 2010 The processes for requesting a mentor and volunteering to become a mentor were last changed on: January 13, 2010

Current Mentor Manager: Aehara

Overview

The primary purpose of the Mentor Program is to provide Eve's newest players with one-on-one instruction. Eve University Mentors teach their students the fundamentals of Eve, guide them through what the University has to offer, and tutor them in the basics of their chosen career(s). Mentorships proceed primarily through one-on-one discussion in-game and/or via TeamSpeak, but hands-on practical lessons are not uncommon.

The Process: Requesting a Mentor

If you are a new student, please follow this link and fill out the web form.

If you decide to stop playing the game, leave Eve University, or for any other reason you no longer desire a mentor, please inform BOTH your mentor and the mentor manager. This courtesy will help ensure that mentors are always available for assignment to new students.

The Process: Becoming a Mentor

Becoming a mentor is the first step on the path to becoming an Eve University Instructor. To apply you must have been a member of Eve University for at least 6-8 weeks (preferably 8-12), be proficient in one or more standard career fields, be fluent in the fundamentals listed below, and have the time available to teach your students. The more regular your schedule, the easier it will be to match students with you. Ideally a mentor will have at least one 1-2 hour block of time on weekdays during which there is at least an even chance of finding you online. In addition to teaching, mentors are responsible for providing short weekly updates on the progress of their students.
