Announcing the inaugural EVE University Olympic Games! This will be a series of team-based events run over the first three weekends of December 2014 (And if successful may run more often). Prizes will be offered for different events; however the main goal is to introduce new players to fleet action and above all to HAVE FUN!

Scheduling Information

Starting: Saturday 6th December 2014 Ending: Sunday 21st December 2014

Time: Each event will start at 14:00 EVE time, and will run 2-4 hours, each Saturday and Sunday during the event period

Form up location: Will be announced prior to each event, and notifications will be sent directly to team managers

Chat Channel: EVE University Olympic Games

Mumble Channel: TBD

Objectives

To help newbros/gals get a taste of small gang action, with a variety of different events focusing on different aspects of PvP and PvE warfare, as well as to allow our more experienced students a chance to share their knowledge in a friendly and team focused atmosphere. Also to promote team planning and close group play, while hopefully forming some new, long-lasting, friendships.

General Rules

1. Rules on team creation and signing up can be seen below.

2. Alts/Dual-Boxing will not be allowed.

3. Attacking of other team members will be allowed in most events; if not allowed this will be clearly stated. Attacking of any team member when prohibited will result in immediate disqualification of the aggressor only, from that event only and will earn a penalty for the aggressing team (dependent on the event in question).

4. Podding of any participants is strictly prohibited. Transgression will result in immediate disqualification of the aggressor only, from that event only. The aggressor will also be required to reimburse the victim for any losses incurred by the podding.

5. Reshipping will be limited based on each event. For most events where losses are expected, ships will be provided; otherwise there will be a ship replacement program for unexpected, legitimate losses. Further details on replacements will be provided along with details on each event.

6. There is no rule #6.

7. Penalties or disqualifications for illegal actions during the games will be decided by the judges and event organizers.

8. In all matters of events, results, penalties and disqualifications, the judge’s decision will be final.

9. Organizers, judges and additional referees will not be eligible to compete in events. A call for volunteers to help referee and run the event will be posted at a later date. An incentives program will be in place for any volunteers, so if you are interested keep an eye on this thread.

10. Team coaches are allowed and encouraged to take an active role in team management, however if not signed up as a team member will not be able to directly participate in the games.

11. Use of third party apps/websites/forums etc. is allowed and encouraged, however maintaining OpSec is required.

12. Note that if at any point a rule in this event conflicts with a rule of either EVE University or IVY League standing ROE or WSOPs, the E-Uni or IVY rule always take precedence.

Team Rules

1. Maximum 110 million SP per team and maximum 10 members per team - This will be calculated from the date of the team's application to the games, and is more of a guideline to keep teams even. However, teams being found to totally ignore this limit may be penalized or ejected from the games.

2. Team Member Corp/Alliance - Up to 2 team members may be E-Uni alumni, the rest must consist of E-Uni members.

3. Manager and Assistant - Teams will select an official team manager and assistant. These will not necessarily be FC's during events etc., rather they will be in charge of submitting teams ship orders, getting team members in the right place at the right time etc.

4. AARs (After Action Reports) - While not compulsory, AARs will be greatly appreciated by myself and judges, as this will save time having to search down all relevant killmails. There will also be a prize available for best written AAR, so for those creative writers out there this is your time to shine.

5. Absent Members - In the event a team member is not able to participate for an event, the rest of the team may still compete, however a replacement member is not allowed. In the event a member is leaving on a more permanent basis, a replacement member may be allowed at the discretion of the event organizers and judges.

6. ... - There is no rule #6.

7. Rule Conflict - Once again, if at any point a team rule conflicts with a rule of either EVE University or IVY League standing ROE or WSOPs, the E-Uni or IVY rule always takes precedence.

Specific Event Details

Event 1: Courier Race

Aggressing other teams – Allowed, although no aggressing is allowed within a solar system 2 jumps or less from a ‘safe zone’. A ‘safe zone’ is designated as any system containing either the start/end station of the event, or any of the collection stations along the way.

Reshipping – Unlimited;first two losses suffered by any player will be reimbursed, any further losses are at player cost.

Ship Restrictions - T1M0; Frigates

Event time maximum – 2 hours

Team Preparation Time – Two days before the event I will send the routes to the teams, allowing them some time to plan routes and strategies.

Event Details – Teams will all begin in a central location and will have 10 (Or less, see below) items to collect, scattered around the universe. Some will be longer, safer trips, others can be short jumps into lo or (possibly) null-sec. At each pickup station, courier contracts will be available either to the individual team members or to the corporation (Depending on total number participating in the event and my total contract allowance). Items must be delivered back to the starting station before the event time is up.

Win Conditions - Time will of course be the deciding factor in this event. After two hours, time will be called and the event will be considered over. The time of each contract being completed will be added up to get a total contract completion time. Failing a delivery will apply a penalty to the total time, and the final total time will be judged. In the event of any ties, number of failed contracts will be the second decider, and any losses the third. In the unlikely event this still leads to a tie, a draw will be declared, with prizes being split equally between both teams.

Event 2: Missioning Event

Aggressing other teams – Not allowed

Reshipping – Unlimited; first loss suffered by any player in PvP combat (i.e. being ganked by WT) will be reimbursed; any further losses are at player cost. Losses to rats will not be refunded.

Ship Restrictions – T1 Ships, T2 module; Frigates/Destroyers (NO faction or T2 ships though, only T1 ships allowed) (Limited to L1 and L2 Missions).

Event Time Maximum – 3 hours

Team Preparation Time – n/a

Event Details – Teams will be tasked with missioning for 3 hours. The level/alliance/security etc. are up to the teams (Although limited to L1 and L2 missions), as well as whether to run alone, in smaller groups or a full team fleet. Teams will be allowed to start out of any station they wish, however will need to be docked up in the finishing station before final bell in order to be counted. Capsuleers will be asked to submit screenshots of their mission journal, with the current time showing at the beginning of the event, in order to prevent members collecting missions before the event.

Win Conditions – At the end of the three hours players must all be docked in a designated final station. After a 20 minute wait in station (for all mission rewards to register), they will all then need to provide screenshots of their wallet showing all (a) agent mission rewards and (b) agent mission time bonus rewards, along with the time-stamps, for the entire event time. The total mission earnings for the team over the event duration will then be calculated. The value of any lost ships will be subtracted from the total mission earnings. (NOTE: LP will NOT be counted for this event, only ISK earnings).

Note on Privacy - I understand that some people may be uncomfortable showing their wallet screenshots, however I have tried to make this as non-intrusive (Someone help me with the right word here please, a bit brain-dead today :)) as possible. All I need to see is the earning for missions during the event, other details may be censored out at your discretion. Alternatively teams may choose to skip this event.
