Joined Eve Online in November 2009 and played for 3 months. Went inactive for 5.5 years, and then decided to use the reactivation special CCP offered. Joined Eve University to learn the game mechanics, everything I can from fleet ops to planetary interactions. Each of my toons have specific roles and targeted ships to master. . So many changes have been made in the game, much more user friendly now. In the real world I build elearning programs for a wide range of clients, from surgeons to real estate investors. I am already working on some ideas for immersive asynchronous simulation training for this game. I am enjoying the intellectual challenges as well as the space battles/shoot 'em up aspects. . Everyone of my toons has lost several ships, but the post-mortem analysis shows what was being done right and more importantly what wasn't done so I don't make the same mistakes again. Just lost a Rupture, after easily defeating Dagan in the Epic Arc SOE final mission, I jumped over two systems to pick up some equipment. I scanned going in, checked the locals and docked. Before I exited, I checked local and saw 4 suspects and 1 criminal, made a mental note to scan immediately after exiting and undocked. They were camped right on the exit and blew up my ship immediately. . Post-Mortem: 1) I didn't check to see if they were from the same corporation (they were). 2) I didn't check to see if they were docked in the station with me when I docked. (they were - which is why they didn't show up d-scan coming in) 3) I didn't check to see if they were docked when I was ready to undock (they weren't). 4) I should of logged out of that toon, leaving it safely docked till they got bored and moved on (the criminal has a -7.9 security rating so ganking a T1 fitted Rupture was no biggie). 5) I did have a good pvp travel fit but when one of the gankers did 96% damage in one volley, the other ganker just had to spit out the window to finish me off.

Live and learn! I also have completely revamped the training queue to get core skills ramped up quickly and mastery skills in place for targeted ship so I can fit and fight it correctly.
