Mining aligned What you will need:
- A medium higgs anchor rig
- A fast ship
- Your procurer
Prep Steps:
- Install the Higgs Anchor rig installed on your barge. This will slow a procurer down to 50m/s max speed.
- In your fast ship. Go to your instadock at the athanor.
- Find the rock you want to mine. I usually try to find two of the same type close to each other.
- Warp to 20 to the rock.
- Lock the rocks you want to mine so you can easily see distances.
- Prepare to create bookmark 1. Ctrl-b to bring it up and type in the name. Don’t press ok yet.
- Manually pilot to pass near to the rock, but not directly towards it. (Double-click in space)
- Watch your distances. Once you’re just within your mining range make your first bookmark.
- Prepare to create bookmark 2.
- Keep watching your distances. They will go down then back up. Once you are close to your range, drop your bookmark 2.
- Prop mod on. Keep burning until you are several hundred km away. I like to be in the 400-500km range. This is why you’re using a fast ship.
- Create bookmark 2 safe
How to mine:
- Warp to 0 to Bookmark 1, If you are too far off, approach Bookmark 1.
- Approach Bookmark 2
- Lock rocks and turn on strip miners
- Set speed to just over 3/4s. This still lets you instawarp if needed.
- When you get very close to bookmark 2, approach bookmark 1.
How to save your butt: - Have your view set so that you can see the safe bookmark you are going towards. “2 safe” when heading towards bookmark “2”, Instadock when you’re heading towards bookmark 1. - When something shows up on grid, or d-scan (you are spamming it correct?) right click on your safe bookmark and warp to 0. You can then turn off your strip miners and recall your drones. (Good luck on the last). You’re now either 400km away and can warp to an astrahaus, or you’re tethered and can dock easily.
