Overview

  • What can you do with PI
  • What Can't you do with PI
    • You cannot attack another player's on-planet assets.
  • What do you get out of investing time in PI

Skills

  • Planetology - int/mem 3x - The understanding of planet evolution and the fundamentals of resource extraction.
  • Advanced Planetology - int/mem 5x - Advanced understanding of planet evolution and the fundamentals of resource extraction.
  • Interplanetary Consolidation - cha/int 4x - For each rank in this skill, you may install a command center on one additional planet, to a maximum of 6 planets. You can have only one command center per planet. Cannot be trained on Trial Accounts.
  • Command Center Upgrades - cha/int 4x - Each rank in this skill improves the quality of command facility available to you, in turn allowing for a greater number of connected facilities on that planet. Cannot be trained on Trial Accounts.
  • Remote Sensing - int/mem 1x -The ability to gather and analyze remote sensing data from satellites in orbit around a planet and to produce proper calibrated surveys.
    • Level 1: allows scans within 1 ly
    • Level 2: allows scans within 3 ly
    • Level 3: allows scans within 5 ly
    • Level 4: allows scans within 7 ly
    • Level 5: allows scans within 9 ly

Planets

For more details, see Planets

Planets come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, and accordingly provides differing materials

>> Suggestion: Table with resources on the X-axies, planet types on the Y axis and highlight the squares to show which planets contain which resources.

Resources

  • Raw Materials/uses
    • T1 Goods/uses
    • T2 Goods/uses
    • T3 Goods/uses

Needs tables and correlation to the Planets info.

Industry

For more details, see Planetary Industry

  • What aspects of the economy are effected by PI
    • NPC Seeded Goods/Production materials
    • POS fuel, ect
  • What ways are there to make money?
    • Strip mining/Extractors only
    • Low Level Production
    • High Level Production/Running multiple colonies that feed eachother/Buying goods off the market to feed production

Colonies

  • General concept
    • Setting up Command Centers, building off them
  • Colony setups
    • Efficiently placing your building to maximize CPU/powergrid use and profit
    • Ratios of Extractors/Production Buildings/Links/Storage that a Command Center can handle at any one time
    • Storage (Surface, orbital cargo links, classic station hangars, ect)
  • Managing multiple colonies
    • Up to 6 colonies
    • Resource gathering colonies/production colonies
    • Hauling between colonies

  • Tips
    • Struggles they may come up against, ect.

Profit!

  • Cultivating your colony
    • Keeping tabs on Extractors and relocating them or surveying for new resources when your current vein is depleted
    • Launching your goods for sale on the market
    • Restructuring a colony to meet current needs
    • Not forgetting it's there
