Is the art of extracting valuable materials from wrecks in space. These Salvaged materials can be sold on the market for profit or used in [[Rig Production]]

[[Destroyer]] type ships are particularly well suited for salvaging operations due to the fact that they have 8 high slots.  With four [http://wiki.eveonline.com/wiki/Salvager_I Salvager] modules and four small [http://wiki.eveonline.com/wiki/Small_Tractor_Beam_I Tractor Beams] modules you can clear up a mission of loot and salvaged wrecks very quickly.
 
 
 
Salvaging with a ship for that purpose may also may get you invited to level four missions by veteran players to split the salvage while they destroy high bounty rats.  This can be a boon to a new players wallet.
