Factory World Formulae

Is the formula for the factory world profit-per-unit correct? The one given is:

 P2bid - ((P1aAsk + p1bAsk)*8) - 15.08 = profit-per-unit

I would have expected that 8 would be a 4 because you need 20 units of each P1 to make 5 units of your P2. So, I get:

 5*P2bid - (20*P1aAsk + 20*P1bAsk) - 5*15.08 = profit-per-five-units

Or, factoring out the 5:

 P2bid - ((P1aAsk + P1bAsk)*4) - 15.08 = profit-per-unit

Then again, perhaps I made a mistake?

 - yup, you did. It takes 40 of each P1 type of unit to make 5 P2 units.--Skalle pande (talk) 00:08, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

Profit! Fee based on volumes.

This line in the "Profit!" paragraph:

TODO: Confirm details

Probably refers to:

Getting items off the planet costs a fee based on what you're launching, so shaving off volume will help!

Does anyone know? I will keep that posted here until someone takes care of it, but I will remove the TODO tag since it looks bad... this is sort of thing that should stay in the discussion page.

I removed that line because it is very misleading. Export fees are actually based on the identity of the exported product (P1 vs. P2 etc). Higher quality products are smaller volume, but have dramatically increased tax rates. See here: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Customs_Office

It might be worthwhile to include the export rates from that link as a part of a bigger overhaul of the article.
