Requirements

  • Clients shall have the ability to request broker contracts for the purchase, sale, or transport of items at any time using the same information available using the in-station contract system
  • Items shall be secured such that only broker staff and the intended user have access to them
  • Funds shall be transferred prior to the acceptance of a brokered buy contract with a specially formatted note to link with the request

Use Cases

  • Client requests to sell an item or items for market price ("loot conversion")
  • Client requests to purchase an item or items for the market rate plus the negotiated fee
  • Client requests hauling of an item or items (can use a 0 isk contract to accomplish this)

Considerations, Risks, and Thoughts

  • The the number of GSCs that a staff broker can anchor will limit the number of simultaneous in-flight transactions. This means that there must be a limit on the amount of time that a client can claim an item from a can
  • Passwords for cans will have to be shared among all staff brokers
  • Passwords for cans will have to be shared with each client for the duration of an exchange transaction
  • Broker staff can use spreadsheets to track requests; however, WHC can make requests via mail
  • Clients can probably use well-known EVE market sites plus a fixed percentage to provide escrow ISK for goods. One issue will be the risk involved in seeking the low price vs the inconvenience of the current HS static
  • Broker staff should have a fair amount of trade skills (Accounting, Broker Relations, standing increasing skills, etc)
