Announcing the inaugural EVE University Olympic Games! This will be a series of team-based events run over the first three weekends of December 2014 (And if successful may run more often). Prizes will be offered for different events; however the main goal is to introduce new players to fleet action and above all to HAVE FUN!

Scheduling Information

Starting: Saturday 6th December 2014

Ending: Sunday 21st December 2014

Time: Each event will start at 14:00 EVE time, and will run 2-4 hours, each Saturday and Sunday during the event period

Form up location: Will be announced prior to each event, and notifications will be sent directly to team managers

Chat Channel: EVE University Olympic Games

Mumble Channel: TBD

Objectives

To help newbros/gals get a taste of small gang action, with a variety of different events focusing on different aspects of PvP and PvE warfare, as well as to allow our more experienced students a chance to share their knowledge in a friendly and team focused atmosphere. Also to promote team planning and close group play, while hopefully forming some new, long-lasting, friendships.

General Rules

1. Rules on team creation and signing up can be seen below.

2. Alts/Dual-Boxing will not be allowed.

3. Attacking of other team members will be allowed in most events; if not allowed this will be clearly stated. Attacking of any team member when prohibited will result in immediate disqualification of the aggressor only, from that event only and will earn a penalty for the aggressing team (dependent on the event in question).

4. Podding of any participants is strictly prohibited. Transgression will result in immediate disqualification of the aggressor only, from that event only. The aggressor will also be required to reimburse the victim for any losses incurred by the podding.

5. Reshipping will be limited based on each event. For most events where losses are expected, ships will be provided; otherwise there will be a ship replacement program for unexpected, legitimate losses. Further details on replacements will be provided along with details on each event.

6. There is no rule #6.

7. Penalties or disqualifications for illegal actions during the games will be decided by the judges and event organizers.

8. In all matters of events, results, penalties and disqualifications, the judge’s decision will be final.

9. Organizers, judges and additional referees will not be eligible to compete in events. A call for volunteers to help referee and run the event will be posted at a later date. An incentives program will be in place for any volunteers, so if you are interested keep an eye on this thread.

10. Team coaches are allowed and encouraged to take an active role in team management, however if not signed up as a team member will not be able to directly participate in the games.

11. Use of third party apps/websites/forums etc. is allowed and encouraged, however maintaining OpSec is required.

12. Note that if at any point a rule in this event conflicts with a rule of either EVE University or IVY League standing ROE or WSOPs, the E-Uni or IVY rule always take precedence.

Team Rules

1. Maximum 110 million SP per team and maximum 10 members per team - This will be calculated from the date of the team's application to the games, and is more of a guideline to keep teams even. However, teams being found to totally ignore this limit may be penalized or ejected from the games.

2. Team Member Corp/Alliance - Up to 2 team members may be E-Uni alumni, the rest must consist of E-Uni members.

3. Manager and Assistant - Teams will select an official team manager and assistant. These will not necessarily be FC's during events etc., rather they will be in charge of submitting teams ship orders, getting team members in the right place at the right time etc.

4. AARs (After Action Reports) - While not compulsory, AARs will be greatly appreciated by myself and judges, as this will save time having to search down all relevant killmails. There will also be a prize available for best written AAR, so for those creative writers out there this is your time to shine.

5. Absent Members - In the event a team member is not able to participate for an event, the rest of the team may still compete, however a replacement member is not allowed. In the event a member is leaving on a more permanent basis, a replacement member may be allowed at the discretion of the event organizers and judges.

6. ... - There is no rule #6.

7. Rule Conflict - Once again, if at any point a team rule conflicts with a rule of either EVE University or IVY League standing ROE or WSOPs, the E-Uni or IVY rule always takes precedence.

Signing Up

In order to sign up your team or to find a team for the games, please ensure that your details are listed in response to this thread (Details on how to post team details shown in post).

If signing up a team take care that your team manager and assistant are clearly marked. I will then send the management a template to complete and send back to me via forum PM.

In the event that you have not received a message from me within 5 days of posting your team details, please feel free to drop me a PM to remind me to send your team details.

Specific Event Details

Event 1: Courier Race

Aggressing other teams – Allowed, although no aggressing is allowed within a solar system 2 jumps or less from a ‘safe zone’. A ‘safe zone’ is designated as any system containing either the start/end station of the event, or any of the collection stations along the way.

Reshipping – Unlimited;first two losses suffered by any player will be reimbursed, any further losses are at player cost.

Ship Restrictions - T1M0; Frigates

Event time maximum – 2 hours

Team Preparation Time – Two days before the event I will send the routes to the teams, allowing them some time to plan routes and strategies.

Event Details – Teams will all begin in a central location and will have 10 (Or less, see below) items to collect, scattered around the universe. Some will be longer, safer trips, others can be short jumps into lo or (possibly) null-sec. At each pickup station, courier contracts will be available either to the individual team members or to the corporation (Depending on total number participating in the event and my total contract allowance). Items must be delivered back to the starting station before the event time is up.

Win Conditions - Time will of course be the deciding factor in this event. After two hours, time will be called and the event will be considered over. The time of each contract being completed will be added up to get a total contract completion time. Failing a delivery will apply a penalty to the total time, and the final total time will be judged. In the event of any ties, number of failed contracts will be the second decider, and any losses the third. In the unlikely event this still leads to a tie, a draw will be declared, with prizes being split equally between both teams.

Event 2: Missioning Event

Aggressing other teams – Not allowed

Reshipping – Unlimited; first loss suffered by any player in PvP combat (i.e. being ganked by WT) will be reimbursed; any further losses are at player cost. Losses to rats will not be refunded.

Ship Restrictions – T1 Ships, T2 module; Frigates/Destroyers (NO faction or T2 ships though, only T1 ships allowed) (Limited to L1 and L2 Missions).

Event Time Maximum – 3 hours

Team Preparation Time – n/a

Event Details – Teams will be tasked with missioning for 3 hours. The level/alliance/security etc. are up to the teams (Although limited to L1 and L2 missions), as well as whether to run alone, in smaller groups or a full team fleet. Teams will be allowed to start out of any station they wish, however will need to be docked up in the finishing station before final bell in order to be counted. Capsuleers will be asked to submit screenshots of their mission journal, with the current time showing at the beginning of the event, in order to prevent members collecting missions before the event.

Win Conditions – At the end of the three hours players must all be docked in a designated final station. After a 20 minute wait in station (for all mission rewards to register), they will all then need to provide screenshots of their wallet showing all (a) agent mission rewards and (b) agent mission time bonus rewards, along with the time-stamps, for the entire event time. The total mission earnings for the team over the event duration will then be calculated. The value of any lost ships will be subtracted from the total mission earnings. (NOTE: LP will NOT be counted for this event, only ISK earnings).

Note on Privacy - I understand that some people may be uncomfortable showing their wallet screenshots, however I have tried to make this as non-intrusive (Someone help me with the right word here please, a bit brain-dead today :)) as possible. All I need to see is the earning for missions during the event, other details may be censored out at your discretion. Alternatively teams may choose to skip this event.

Event 3: PvP Free Roam

Aggressing other teams – Allowed

Reshipping - 2 reships per player provided, further will be at player cost (and time) to supply.

Ship Restrictions – T1 Frigates/Destroyers; T1/2 Modules – Note free supplied modules will only apply to T1M0 modules listed on the order form, M1+ modules will be allowed but at player expense.

Event Time Maximum – 2 rounds of 2 hours each, separated by a 1 hour break.

Team Preparation Time – Once teams have signed up for the games they will receive order forms for each event where applicable. Order forms will need to be submitted 1 week before the starting date (More detailed instructions will be posted along with team sign up details). Starting location will be sent 1 day prior. An hour before event I will ask all teams to be docked up in starting stations to accept contracts of ships and prepare their fittings etc.

Event Details – This will be a standard free roam fleet exercise, however fleets will be allowed to engage each other. Teams will all launch from the starting station at the beginning of event, and will not be allowed to attack each other within the starting system or any adjacent one ("Safe zones").

Win Conditions – Standings will be calculated by comparing ISK efficiency of each fleet. Each team member not docked up in the starting station when the final bell is called will impose a 5% penalty to the team’s ISK efficiency total.

Event 4: PvP Bounty Hunting

Aggressing other teams - Allowed

Reshipping - 3 reships per player provided, further will be at player cost (and time) to supply.

Ship Restrictions - T1M0; Frigates

Event Time Maximum – 2 hours

Team Preparation Time – Once teams have signed up for the games they will receive order forms for each event where applicable. Order forms will need to be submitted 1 week before the starting date (More detailed instructions will be posted along with team sign up details). Starting location will be sent 1 day prior. An hour before event I will ask all teams to be docked up in starting stations to accept contracts of ships and prepare their fittings etc.

Event Details - This event is going to simulate multiple "bounty" crews going after the same target. The targets themselves will consist of T2 fitted T1 frigates, piloted by experienced E-Uni members. They will undock from their starting station and spend at least 25 minutes en route (i.e. no docking up in this time). The targets may avoid the hunters by any means, besides cloaking or docking up. Each target will have a specific role, such as a long range courier, or a delivery agent dropping off multiple items on their route. Some intel about each target's routes will be sent to teams a few days before the event to allow for some level of forward planning. The teams will need to hunt down the targets, and may also engage others teams at their discretion.

Win Conditions - Win conditions will be counted by total ISK efficiency for the team for the event, with draws on efficiency being decided by total ISK value of ships destroyed (killing blow) by the team. Target frigates will count for 3x their ISK value for the team member that landed the killing blow, and 1 x their value for any other team that participated in the battle (This means it will often be more effective to attack the opposing team before they manage to engage the target, or try burn the target before they arrive etc.) Killing an opposing team member will count for 2x their ships value, split between any teams involved in the combat.

Call for Volunteers - I need experienced pilots who want to volunteer to act as targets for this event. I will provide a set total to each volunteer to pay for shipping. This will have the added incentive that if the target survives, the ship, fittings and any budget left over will be theirs to keep. How you evade the targets will be up to you, and working with the other targets to draw teams into each other is encouraged (Although remember your ultimate goal is to give a good run rather than kill the teams :)). If you are interested please drop me a PM through the forums or an in game mail (I may take longer to answer these).

Event 5: PvP Escort/Assassination

Aggressing other teams – Allowed

Reshipping - 2 reships per player provided, further will be at player cost (and time) to supply.

Ship Restrictions – T1M0; Frigates (Nominated "Haulers" will be restricted to T1 Industrials)

Event Time Maximum – 3 hours

Team Preparation Time – Pickup locations will be sent to the teams 1 day before event start. Basic event details and ship order forms will be sent about 3 weeks prior.

Event Details – 1 team member will be nominated as the hauler, and will fly an industrial ship fitted with T1M0 modules. Teams will then need to fly back and forth between a 10 jump station and the starting station (Each team will have a different remote station, but the same starting station). Each trip they will collect an item and return it to a ref at the starting station, then rinse and repeat. However, while this is happening the teams will also be trying to destroy other teams’ haulers. Each team will be provided with 3 haulers, fit to their request. Once a team’s haulers are all destroyed, the rest of the team will have 10 minutes to dock up in the starting station. Teams may not aggress each other within the starting station’s system. Stasis webs, warp disruptors etc. will all be fair game and included on the order sheet for ships.

Win Conditions – If an item belonging to a team is returned by that team (i.e. a non-stolen item), it will count for 1 point for that team. Returning an item belonging to another team will gain the returning team 2 points. Total points in the end will decide the winner. If there is a draw on points, the team with the most surviving haulers after event will be the winner. If this is still a draw, total ISK efficiency for each team will be counted.

Event 6: PvP Gotta Kill 'em All

Aggressing other teams – Allowed

Reshipping – 2 reships per player provided, no further reships allowed.

Ship Restrictions – T1M0; Frigates/Destroyers

Event Time Maximum – 3 hours

Team Preparation Time – Teams will be given ample time to provide ship request lists, and will be informed of their starting stations a few days before the event as well.

Event Details – A straightforward PvP brawl, this event will see teams starting in different stations in the same system. On start teams will undock and begin a large scale PvP hunt and brawl. Teams will be allowed to jump a maximum of 2 systems away from the starting system. Simply put, hunt down other teams until only a single team is left standing.

Win Conditions – Unlike the name suggests the last team standing will not necessarily be the winners; rather the standings will be decided by ISK efficiency once again (With deadlocks being decided by total value of ships destroyed). This will prevent simply staying in station while other teams fight. Also teams that leave the permitted area (Starting system + 2 jumps) or are caught staying docked simply to avoid combat will be penalized.

Prizes

Currently I can confirm there will be at least 3 billion ISK in the prize pool for the entire games (500 mil per event). There will also be a selection of side prizes.

A ship reimbursement program will also be in effect, as detailed in the specific event posts above. Most ships will be pre-ordered before the event, and will be provided before each event. More details will be sent to team leaders upon signing up for the games.

Donations to the prize pool (ISK or module packs/ships) will be happily and gratefully accepted, the same if you wish to sponsor an event or side prize (just think of the marketing opportunities!). Please contact me via forum PM or in-game mail if you are interested in donating. Please title your message clearly with DONATION - {Character Name}.

Side Prizes

Some side prizes that will be up for grabs:

Best written AAR - 250 million ISK

Player with most killing blows throughout games - Full set of standard (+4) implants

Team with most killing blows throughout games - 2 x T2 Frigate hulls per team member, their choice

Player with highest value killing blow - Full set of standard (+4) implants

Player with best kill efficiency throughout games (Draws will be decided by total damage dealt) - 5 x T2 Frigate hulls of their choice
